Is it true there will be an SSE 2.0?

Well I wanted to get another SSE pistol but I would need to take out credit card debt for it. I know I know, terrible idea. But at my LGS I overheard people talking about an SSE 2.0 and that various FFLs are figuring out the process now. Is this true?

Yes....and then there will be another bill banning it. And so on and so on until something either changes via the court system (I personally doubt I will be alive by that time) or guns in CA will be like guns in DC.

it may be possible that there is an SSE2 option, but that is not guaranteed. and even if there is an SSE2, it might be limited to items like AR pistols and other oddball pistols, and not extend to your more traditional firearms like Gen4 Glock.

and if it does manifest itself into a commercial option, it probably won't be as easy as SSE1 became with barrel inserts.

Anyway I look at it, it will take FFLs to embrace the desire to exploit letter of the law if you will.
As Jack said it will not be as simple as it is now.
It will come down to a dealer willing to push the limits.
I called DOJ and they still have no defined direction in when will be the last day for SSE1. They said maybe have that direction middle of next month or in early December.

Sure, there will be SSE2. However, it's not guaranteed, your dream gun will be eligible or you will be able to afford it.

The work around I heard does not sound too appealing to me. And yes, guns will cost more because there is a significant cost associated with the work around. Even if the lawyers ok this, I will not be interested in the outcome. Looks like the party is over.

Ah, well what is changed in the law was that the guns must be manufactuted as single shot. guns. So if I were to speculate, a factory built Gen4 Glock with a 1 round magazine and long barrel is a single shot gun. But Glock already told us to shove the roster so I can't see them doing it, plus they can sell us Gen3s.
