    Need a .45 gunsmith

    Hey everybody.

I just bought a very nice slide from Sarco to put onto my 1911a1 Springfield. I am having some fitting problems either with the locking lugs or with the chamber face / rear barrel area.
Does anyone know a good gunsmith in the So Cal area that works on .45's?

    Mike.

Kings in Glendale is spoken well of as I recall.
(I'm on Norcal, no help there).

Try Dave's Metal Works in Covina, Dave's a great gunsmith and a good guy to do business with.

The gunsmith @ King's retired at the begining of this year, Kings no longer do gun smithing.

          Gunsmith

Bain and Davis in San Gabriel. Best in the area, since Kings gunsmith retired.

                    FAIL.

Check in with Kings in Glendale around November when they get a new smith.

They've been top notch and I'm sure the new guy should be good to follow the old dude.

To the OP, will the barrel nestle in the slide lugs when the parts are off the pistol / loose?
If so, you might just need a shorter or longer barrel link, so that the barrel lines up properly. It's a part you can readily get and install yourself.

+1 for Dave you will be stoked when he's done. Quick and reasonably priced.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

Another thumbs up for Dave's Metalworks. Top notch for very good price.
