    S&w 629 competitor front sight

Well I've been wanting a 629 competitor for a while and finally found one. Paid for it online and while waiting to it to get sse, I received a call from my lgs and they said the front sight is loose and it can be pushed out by hand. I've never heard of a new gun having a loose front sight but stuff does happen. Should I go ahead and purchase it or wait till I find another dealer with one? I'm hoping it's just the sight and not the dovetail but I can't even look at it since it's not sse yet. Anyone ever run into this? I was thinking I can dimple the sight to make it wider than press it into the dovetail? Thanx in advance..

Maybe I should of put this in the gun smithing section???

Maybe it should be sent back to S&W to have them complete what they started. I would not consider doing it myself, a gunsmith sure, but not myself and I'm fairly handy with tools.

If the revolver is off roster, can it be shipped directly to s&w and be sent back to me without going to an ffl?

I just did that with my Sig P225. UPS 2 day and they will ship it back right to my door. This is the second time I've done that.
