    Springfield Operators

I was at Oaktree Gun Club and they just got in two TRP Operators and two TRP's.

I was told these have been hard to come by for some time is this correct?

What is so great about them?
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Yes as I remember they are full rail. If they would make them a double stack and use SVI mags they might be a great alternative to the other wide body guns out there.

Operator is the best out of the box 1911 availible at this time at that price point. They are all hand built, hand fitted using match components.

TRP are very nice Production guns , they do get the most attention of all the production guns from Springfield but they are not hand fitted. They are not full house custom guns not even as they are not made in the Springfield custom shop. I have a trp operator it is a great 100% reliable pistol but it has had some issues, nothing I could not fix . The slide has the last few numbers of the serial number written inside of it. The trigger is O.K. nothing great. Lots of creep no glass breaking but nice enough. My kimbers have the best dam trigger out of the box for a production gun bar none.

The TRP Operators are assembled by the Springfield Custom shop. They cost around $1600.

Real quick as I'm at work, go the 10-8 forums and read the latest trp question The discussion should set the idea of custom versus production straight. the operator Professional is made in the custom shop but wer are not questioning the professional model that sells for 2400 jst the trp operator and the trp correct?

one more ting I would never get the trp again I would get the mc operator as the traditoinal guide rod and barrell are more real world and the trp is to heavy for competion .

Remeber the original post state trp not professional .
go to the springfield website and look up the custom shop and the trps

                            PRO is custom.
                            TRP is not.

Correct. The TRP's have a few fitting operations done by the custom shop, but the pistol by and large is built on the regular assembly line. The Professional line is fully built by the custom shop and priced accordingly...but don't take our word for it...call the custom shop.
