    Walther CCP

Literature is interesting but probably release will be too late for sse. I see it listed on Gallery of Guns but I guess it is really not out there yet. Might not want to take a chance on something new and unproven anyway. Would have liked the choice though. Oh well...

from what I gather on the Walther Forums, I don't think the CCP will make it here before the end of the year in time for the SSE's.

Also, the size diff between the CCP & PPQ is not that big...

Handled a demo CCP. Would rather have a PPQ. Size is pretty close as RUDDOGG said to a PPQ

I don't get the CCP. It's bigger than a PPS. If you want a bigger firearm, get a PPQ. If you want a budget gun, get a PPX. Is CCP for the extreme recoil sensitive people? What market segment is this pistol for?

To me it sounds like a better gun than the PPQ would be for carry, probably not going to be as accurate by a small margin, but should have as good of a trigger and less recoil. Slightly smaller too. Of course PPS is still smaller...

I dunno why I want one. Just seems like it would be a fun last SSE.

Its mainly for the CCW market for folks who don't have the strength and dexterity to rack a normal slide. Due to the gas system to withstand recoil, it allows them to use a much lighter recoil spring hence its much easier to rack. May mean nothing to us normal folks but for older people and some women it gives them a semi-auto option over having to stick with a small revolver.

So it's for people graduating from the PK380. I don't know how big that market segment is, but that makes sense.

Well it's supposed to be their carry model, even though it isn't as small as say a Shield. It's about $150 less than a PPS and has less recoil for faster follow up shots, in theory. The trigger is also supposed to be close to the PPQ. I hope, but doubt it will be. It's about 4-5 months late to market already. Hopefully Walther is making it a fine pistol such *** the PPQ.

Does anyone have a PPX and care to comment on it? I kind of like that its so big and the hammer is almost invisible from the side, and it's cheap for a German Made product.

If it's got the PPQ trigger without the excessive muzzle-flip, for a few hundred less, I'm definitely interested.

I don't have a PPX but I rented one. My thoughts are simple, amazing shooter with a great trigger but is bulky and (for me) not that ergonomic. I think it blows away just about everything in that class as far as shootability. Its trigger didn't perform poorly next to my PPQ.

I checked with my dealer it says all are allocated, but I have yet to hear of anyone having one outside the gun mags.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the CCP has a fixed barrel which means you won't be able to SSE it since SSE requires a 6" barrel minimum.

Not sure why that would matter, most dealers use barrel extensions.

They would use a universal barrel insert.
