    AR Pistol Trouble Shoot Update

So after my first range trip with my new 7.5" pistol I was having failure to extracts that were jamming up my pistol and locking the bolt forward almost in battery. After checking my reloads with a case gauge i saw that some of the cases were too large and chalked my problems up to that.

This past weekend I ran my ar pistol with some cheap steel case and am now having failure to eject which results in the the bolt slamming shut while trying to load the second round forming a "v" in the chamber with the two rounds.

I also had an occurrence of failure to eject as well a couple of times.

Another symptom that I am having is that my brass is ejecting way behind me at like the 4:30-5 o'clock pattern and not where it should at 3 o clock.

This led me to believe that my ar is short stroking, however, when i run a mag dry, the bolt locks open.

I have done a lot of reading but have not been able to find these symptoms together so i help some of you guys can help.

    Set up:

    7.5 " barrel
    AP Upper
    80 percent lowwer
    Standard LPK.
Phase 5 buffer tube and buffer sprint/buffer that came with it.

PSA BCG (I think this might be an issue with a weak extractor spring).

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks,

So you've shot crappy reloads and cheap steel case....and your having some issues ??

Spend some money and go get some brass 5.56x45 factory.

If it runs, you know it's the ammo.

    Still have probs, swap bolt.
Still has probs, check gas tube/hole and buffer spring/buffer
Swap for different weight buffer, check operation.

This may take a some part swapping to localize problem and cure it.

Wouldn't an adjustable gas block fix the problem?

Forgot to mention that I had a buddy run factory brass through it and achieved the same lock up and failure to eject.

Check port alignments; gas tube to gas block, and gas block to barrel gas port. If you're ejecting at 4-5 o'clock, your system is under gassed. Strange that your bolt is locking on empty, though.
