    Tangfolio Magazines Same as CZ?

    Hi All

Sorry, I tried searching but couldn't come up with anything definitive. Maybe because I don't have a firm understanding on the model markings?

I'm trying to find out if a Tangfolio Witness may have the same or similar magazine as a CZ. The Witness in question is the Limited in .40. I've read that on the older ones they could be interchangeable and on certain sized frames they could be interchangeable?

Anyone have a definitive yes or no? Thanks for the help!

Witness pistols come in two frame sizes, small and large. The small frame guns will work with some cz75 mags. Factory witness mags are a hair longer than cz mags. The limited .40 you referred to is a large frame witness so regular cz 75 mags will not work. You might ask on the cz forum if other mags will work in that gun.

I run EAA Witness mags (both 40SW & 9mm w/conversion bbl) in my CZ-75B with out issue. I think the Witness mags do stick out a little further as already mentioned but am not certain if that's the case in my pistol. If you're trying to go the other direction and use CZ mags in a Tanfoglio that might be a problem if the shorter mag length would prevent seating. If I get a chance this evening I'll measure the distance from the base plates to the mag catch notch and add that in here.

Is your tanfo the small frame or large frame? I know my elite match is a large frame and the mags are too big, but the witness p-s is small frame and the mag is similar, I don't pick it up until Friday so I can't confirm yet

Just picked up my small frame witness today and I confirmed that my cz75b magazines do fit.

Sorry it took a while, but i finally measured my mags. The 9mm Tanfoglios are slightly longer from floorplate to mag catch, but only by .030". The Kadet mags are shorter by .015" (Using my factory CZ 40sw Mec-gar as baseline)
