gen 4 glock mag feeding issues?

I decided to get a spare mag for my gen3 g26. Turners only had gen4 mags and I didnt think much of the fact that it was gen4 since they are all glock.

Once i got to the range however I kept getting failures to eject from this mag. I then noticed a tiny gap between the mag and the grip. Here it is.


And here it is with the original mag which is flush with the grip.

Anyone else having issues with gen 4 mags in gen 3 guns?

Glock is only making gen 4 magazines now. They've worked flawlessly in my gen 3 G26 so far. I also have about a 1mm space showing above my mags' baseplates but it has not affected function at all.

Please note, you have two very different baseplates on those magazines.

So you think i just need to break in the magazine more?

A failure to feed could be a magazine problem, but a failure to eject I'm not sure. Are you certain the magazine is the cause of the trouble?

Yeah because I just gave the gun a good cleaning before i shot it. Also it works fine with the original mag it came with.

I bought 4 gen4 mags for my gen3 30sf. No issues. And mine has a tiny gap like the first picture.
