Hi Power Standard Rear Sight Question

I'm picking up a beautiful Hi Power Standard from my LGS for $750. The finish on it is perfect, the magazine disconnect has been removed and a trigger job done. The only thing that kind bothers me is the adjustable sights (LPA pattern I believe) instead of fixed sights. Is there any fixed sight I can get to replace the adjustable or am I stuck with the LPA pattern?

If I am stuck with the LPA pattern I'll just go with fiber optics, not a big deal. The worse case scenario I buy a new slide.

Novak sights work well.

I'd also check Brownells, there are a ton of aftermarket sights available.

The LPA sight cut looks rather long, if I put a novak in would it look funny?

Edit: I think Harrison Sights has one designed specifically to convert adjustable LPA sights to fixed sighs. I'll give that a try.

I'm actually looking for a new slide so I can run two different slides however as folks on 1911 forum pointed out those standard sights actually gives good sight picture.

I just put a pair of mepro night sights on mine. It originally had the adjustable rear sight, like it so much better with the gixed night sights

I remember seeing the Hi Power you got, the sight and cut are different then the one I have. I can fit a fixed sight on it but it would just look funny.

Nikki that's exactly what I have. I believe that's the current Hi Power Standard cut which has more recess compared to the older cuts that sat higher on the side.

Will do. I'll take it to the gunsmith first to see if he knows any sight he can modify to fit. Sometimes the mind of one profession is greater than ten amateurs

The worst case is that I buy another slide. It's not cost effective but I get two sights and two sight pictures.
