How cool is a Glock 19................... Compensated ???

I've never thought about it............... Do I need a 'compensated' Glock ???

Thought I heard that Glock was discontinuing compensated models... Then they release new 'compensated' Gen4's.
And now S&W releases their new M&P Performance Center ported models... and folks here seem to be really excited about them!

Maybe I DO need one and I don't even know it ???

I've got Gen4 Glocks... BUT not a compensated model... and time's running out!

Not really that cool cause 9mm in limited in IPSC is shooting in minor, which is a big disadvantage. Unless it is a range gun, I don't see a point.

That is ok 9mm works great in open which is where the porting would put him.

Doesn't a ported barrel bump you to Open? So, no-go with action pistol...

And, as a range gun... There are plenty of ranges that allow rapid-fire, right? My current one does not. (that's where the benefit of porting is, right?)

My Grizzly is like that in 45 win mag. At an indoor range the muzzle flash is a 5 foot fireball with my reloads (lots of 296).

Porting a nine is kinda pointless. Especially on an almost fullsize gun. The recoil was already minor to begin with.

I had a ported Gen 3. Recoil impulse was different. Did it shoot softer? Hard to say.

I had Gen 3 compensated 19. It was louder than a reg 19 but did not help that much with follow up shots for me. My brother had compensated glock 40 cal it help more for follows ups in that gun. I would think it would help even more with a glock in 357 Sig

^ If you need more, take your compensated Glock to a tactical handgun class...
and after an hour or two, ask the people on the right and left of you if they think a ported barrel is cool.

- No for action pistol
- No if you shoot at a range that does not allow rapid firing
- No for training classes

- Yes for ____impressing girls at night___________.

i secretly want a compensator on my 1911 just to know what the "enhancement" is like =]


edit: in regards to the "sse" scene: get the compensator "installed" your self on a glock your payed a reasonable price for.

I also had an G19c. Sold it and bought an Gen4 G19. I wasn't bad at all. A little louder than a non comp model.

I got a 19c and one word comes to mind, loud. It's louder then all my other 9mm's. Follow-ups seem slightly faster not much though.
