Using Glock Gen4 for Home defense

Hi, Do you see any issue using Glock Gen4 for HD? since SSE is coming to an end, will there be any legal issues using it for HD?

Just concerned, I prefer ergonomics of Gen4 much better than Gen3, grips on GEn3 just sucks.

Please let me know your opinion.

    thanks

Can both wife and husband use same gun for HD, I mean does it matter on whose name gun is registered? If both are eligible to own guns.

You're over thinking this. Would it be legal to use the said gun at the range? Why not in a home d situation?

Yes, it's perfectly legal unless she's a prohibited person.

But even IF it weren't legal, I think the law goes out the window when an intruder is in your home trying to hurt/kill you.

            No.

I'd be much more concerned about catching a case of "Glock Foot" than I would be about any legal issues.

If you bought the gun legally, you shouldn't have a problem. Then again, this is California.

main weapon should be a shotgun for HD
backup could be a glock. I prefer 45 acp.

It's in your name and registered, I don't think you'll have a problem with that aspect. The guaranteed impending lawsuit is going to suck whether you used something on roster or not.

roster has nothing to do with it, if it's registered in your name before 2015 via SSE, it's yours LEGALLY.

This thought ran through my mind when I read your post:

Cops are exempt from the roster - some (many?) of them use 4th Gen Glocks. No doubt there have been justifiable fatal shootings with said 4th Gen Glocks.

Some ambulance chasing lawyer in those instances might want to sue a given police department as those guns aren't on the "safe" roster for everyone - fully realizing cops are exempt.

I've never heard of such a lawsuit where a cop is sued for using a "off roster" gun. Furthermore I've not heard of a homeowner being sued for using a "off roster gun".

                          Yeah, I'm over thinking it.

As I always say, a good shoot is a good shoot. LE's primary concern is whether or not the deadly force was justified, and the means in which you delivered the deadly force is generally of no consequence. Of course, the exception would be an AW.

Better question might be... Should you both use the same gun for HD ?

My choice may be a Glock Gen4, but she's faster, more comfortable, more accurate... and therefore more effective with a revolver and laser. That's her choice.
