    M&P 9mm trigger finger position...

I figured it was time to try an M&P. I've shot it a couple times and the good news is that it fits my hand, unlike a Glock. I'm curious as to how M&P shooters position their trigger finger; pad on the trigger like with a single action revolver? Or maybe at the first joint like with a double action revolver? Depending on which method I use would determine which backstrap I use.

it's probably not correct but I have been shooting everything at the joint for as long as l have been shooting. Probably because I have shot double action revolvers for so long, but that is how I shoot Glock, M&P, etc.

I'd say use the backstrap that feels best for you, then determine how you're going to work the trigger. It really doesn't matter how anyone else shoots it, it's not going to help you.

That being said, I use the pad of my finger. Using the joint seems to be a technique for guns that have heavier DA type trigger pulls. Or if you've just got super long fingers and have no other choice.

I used the medium on my fs and compact. It was really based on my other fingers and grip overall as ruchik suggests.

I can certainly use the pad of my finger but I get less twitch when it breaks when I use the 1st joint.

I shoot my 1911s on the pad.

It's the only gun I shoot in the joint. Not snuggled in the V but just in front of it.

I don't like the large backstrap. Hard to come out the holster consistently. Small and medium are great.

M&P is my go to gun, so consistent.

            M&P trigger

I have tried all three sizes that comes with my M&P. For me with striker fire pistols, I seem to shoot more consistently at the knuckle. Which drove me to putting the smallest grip backstrap in. My hands aren't small or large, but the small backstrap works best for my style of shooting. I'd say try what feels best and try them all. It's gonna come down to which helps you shoot with best consistency.
