    Sell my Glock 36?

Continuing a series of similar threads, I want to see if anyone can talk me out of selling my G36. When I bought my 36, I loved it to pieces and swore I would never sell it (and it's also my first gun purchase ever, btw). I bought it primarily for backpacking, for bear/lion/crazies protection, and being lightweight, slim, and powerful, it seemed like the best option. Then, I talked myself into buying the G29, figuring that I could swap slides around and basically choose between a G29, G30S, and G36 when I go for a trip. But the more I shoot the G29, the less I like the G36. But dangit, it's my first baby and I really loved it so much until I got my hands on the 29! If you were me, would you sell it, or hang on to it (even if for no other reason than sentimental value)?
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Considering you broke your gun's virginity, you have to marry her Just kidding. Sell it. Don't get attached to things.

Some wise men have told me, don't get attached to material things, and they are often right.

Some wise men have told me, don't ever sell anything, and they are often right too.

Who is right at any one time? I don't know about you, but for me just about anything I've ever hesitated to sell, I've regretted selling. And just about anything I've ever sold without hesitation, I've never regretted.

One of my biggest regrets is selling the very first gun I bought for myself in 1990, a Beretta 85F. God I loved that gun, why did I sell it? It's not like I was starving for money.

So, going by that, my advise is, unless you're starving or something, don't sell your G36.

I understand not selling the Beretta 85f... But (I'll say it)... It's just a Glock.

Within reason, having a couple of different caliber handguns is a good idea.

My first handgun was a glock 30 after 3 years of use and several handguns i decided to sell it. I don't regret it but sometimes i do miss it.

I don't know if you CC, but there's good reason to keep both. IMHO, the G29 is too damn big and heavy for CC. The problem is the thickness and weight of the slide. The G30s is the same size and weight (both loaded) as the G19, which is one of the most popular CC weapons in the US. So you'd lose the flexibility of carrying a G30s if you sold the G36. Then there are times where a single stack is all you can get away with. The G36 will work best of the 3 in that situation.

IMHO, you have the best case scenario. You have 3 highly desireable guns for the price of 2. Why would you mess with that?

I would not sell my first one.

Keep it, because it's worth owning.

Keep it and buy another Glock. I just purchased a G26 and Didn't even think of getting rid of my G19. My theory is...Buy new...keep everything

I would keep it! Not like it's going to cost you anything to keep locked away for a rainy day. Then when you do pull it out of the safe (or other safe storage) you can day dream of when you bought it home for the first time!

Great advice guys, thank you! I've decided to keep it. I'm not hard-up for cash so I'm not sure why I thought about selling it, I guess I just felt like I might not shoot it very much. But it's never let me down, fired flawlessly since day one, and is my first baby. Plus I can always frankenglock the upper, so it'll always have a place. I know it's "just a glock", but hey, I love glocks and it was my first gun ever, so I don't feel bad being sentimental about it!
