CBob or VBob

I have the Valor and Heritage and love them both and they have the same internals...do you know if the cbob and vbob have the same internals or small parts? I kind of like the polish flats on the cbobComment

I don't know exactly what the difference, I'm sure you can Google the specs on it to see the diff. The VBOB is identical to the Valor full size except for the barrel length & bobtail. I'm pretty sure the VBOB has some upgraded internals over the CBOB.Comment

Vbob is %99 DW parts now. Just some EGW, wolf springs parts.
Cbob is little more complex depending on what year built. Pre 08 they had mix of EGW, ED brown, and STI thumb safety. But if you compare a Cbob when they first got on the roster to 2014 version there completely different in parts. So I don't know how they are selling them on the roster.Last edited by bajadan; 09-30-2014, 10:18 AM.Comment

The Vbob is better in terms of fit and finish. It has more hand refining than the Cbob. If i'm not mistaken the internals should be the same and the sights are different. Value wise I would get the Vbob, if you want a classic looking 1911 get the Cbob. I have a Cbob and a full size Valor in stainless. I personally love the Cbob for it's clean, classy, and simple aesthetics. The Valor is my heirloom piece to pass on

CBOB vs VBOB, according to the web that never lies:
I'm looking for a new carry gun and been looking at the V-Bob but recently ran across a good used CBOB. I know the CBOB have not been made since 2010 but what are the difference between the V-Bob and CBOB?

That's what I'm wondering...if the current cbob uses the same parts as the vbob...then ill go for the cbob for its clean classy look...I like the polish flats on the cbob...but if the vbob uses better parts internally then I would go with the vbob. The Vbob is better in terms of fit and finish. Probably the smart thing to do is jump on Vbob now and since CZ/DW are pretty good on renewing their handguns every year, get the Cbob later. Turner's usually has the best price at $1,499 when it's on sale or even get one through ppt for a lot cheaper.Comment

im only going to be able to get one or the other...were buying our first home next year and money will be more of an issue...unless I sell my other gunsComment

I have the CZ made DW CBOB and their PM7, I think each is a very well made pistol and worth more than the $900.00 I paid for each of them when the line was "CA OK" about 6 years back. Having said that regarding the CBOB, is the pistol really worth the "about $1,600.00 or more I see them going for in CA? Does the current CA price represent the quality of the gun or the difficulty getting it combined with CZ/DW keeping a "CA only" gun in their line up?
If the Valor is not on the roster and can be had for "real world price + SSE" doesn't that make more sense than paying $1,600.00 for an about $1,100.00 gun?
Again, I don't mean to diminish the quality of the DW CBOB. But if part of the price, like Cuban cigars, reflects costs not found in the product - why buy?GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment

From what I read the reason for the price increase after 2010 is DW started using better part (materials)....that's why I was wondering if the Cbob and Vbob are using the same internalsI have the CZ made DW CBOB and their PM7, I think each is a very well made pistol and worth more than the $900.00 I paid for each of them when the line was "CA OK" about 6 years back.
