Thoughts on the FN five seven?

For some damn reason Ive been obsessing over the five seven. It just looks so cool the me and cartridge seems awesome. Theres a lot of conflicting opinions on this gun, is it worth getting?

Why does the cartridge seem awesome? All the ammo you're (readily) going to obtain is underpowered blue box. Unless you're backing up a PS90, it seems like a uselessly expensive proposition in a handgun.

If you could run it with the 20, or 30 round Magazine, sure.

I had one and sold it. There is very little recoil, so it's incredibly easy to shoot well. All the ballistics that show how great the round is are usually done with an ammo most people don't have access to, so who really cares about it's armor piercing potential. One of the main draws for the gun is the large capacity, which is completely negated in CA.

I just don't think it's a good gun to own in CA vs. traditional calibers. And it's LOUD as hell.

My friend talked and talked and talked about getting one for months. Finally he got one and promptly sold it after its first range outing. I don't know exactly why but he wasn't impressed. He passed away so I cant ask him. I only saw it once and remember it looked cool.
I looked heavily into an AR57 upper for a while. I got conflicting answers to whether or not the ammo was reloadable. I know it is but I never got a good solid answer on what exactly needed to be done.

I got a sweet deal on mine. I dont regret it and probably wont ever sell it. Great gun, turns heads when at the range. If u can afford it why not. I have a AR15 its mags can only carry ten bullets but that didn't stop me from buying it either.

I have it. I remember reading on an airsoft forum that the fake one feels the same as the real one which I'm not sure what to make of it.

If they were in the 500-600 range, I'd buy one just for the cool factor. But they retail for over 1000 and usually sell for more like 1500. No way I'd get one at those prices.

Cool? Absolutely. Practical in any sense? Not so much in CA.

I shot one, no big deal, no overwhelming urge to get one either.

Those are rare as heck even in free states. Plus I couldn't find anyone selling 10 round mags for it.
