    Fireclean - highly recommended

Picked up some FC from Griffon Industries (http://www.griffonindustries.com/pro...reclean-01.htm) and tested it out on my Baer 1911.

Having gone from traditional Hoppes/Breakfree to Froglube and FC, I have to say FC is the best of the 3.

Hoppes/Breakfree burns off too quickly. Froglube is an improvement, but still tends to gunk up over time as carbon builds (it also becomes more solidlike at room temperature). FC, from my experience so far, seems to liquefy the carbon so you don't need to relube as much.

It's expensive, but I was impressed with how viscous each drop is...so you end up using less. Apparently you can get 1500 drops per bottle.

So far, I've had about 250 rounds through the Baer on Fireclean (no relube) and it still feels quite slick. I've used grease and Froglube paste on the rails before, but the FC has made it feel the smoothest.

Anyone else running it for their handguns or 1911s?

And a bonus pic of my range session at Sunnyvale Rod and Gun yesterday, ran 130 rounds through her.

Interesting. Thank you for the input.

By the look of the Fireclean bottles i have seen it looked like allot of marketing.

Its good to hear of some first hand experiences with the product.

I am glad it is working well for you, thanks for the post.

I used to be a fan of Fireclean till I discovered it runs out just as easily any other oil does in moderately warm temperatures.

        TW25B for me.

I use it for AR's, 1911's, Glock's, Rimfires, etc. Basically, everything.

Was a big fireclean guy until I started using lubriplate. Will never go back.

I've never tried Fireclean, but I'm completely happy with Lubriplate.

What I like about FC is that it actually seems to react to the carbon, as advertised. With Froglube, it stayed slicker than Breakfree but still gunked up (and felt more solidlike at room temp, so wiping was a bit more difficult).

I switched my AR to FC as well.

Love fire clean. I use it on all my pistols and rifles for over a year now. After scrubbing bores with hoppes, the follow up swabs with fireclean always have more crud on it. Good stuff.
