HK and phasing out the old??

With HK having the "new line" of guns ike the VP9, P30, P2000 etc.... Do you think they will phase out the USP series any time soon? It has been almost unchanged since the early 1990's.

What do you guys think? I personally like the USP and the new guns coming out.

If they continue to sell well, and the tooling to make them holds up, I don't see why they would discontinue it any time soon. If they drop the USP line, they basically lose the CA market.

the USP is a great timeless platform, even for its day it has brought out the solid snake in all of us. if your the manufacturer why stop? especially if sales is going thru till now.

The full size HK USP 45 is the best semi auto handgun ever made IMO. Doubt they'll drop it. The real question is it a United Service Pistol or Universal Self-loading Pistol???

I think universal self loading. I agree it is always a toss up between USP 45 and a 1911. I shoot the USP45 like it is made for ME! With the P30 having the changeable grip, and a standard rail V.S. a 20+ year old non-customizable proprietary rail.... Eventually they stop making things like the P7M8 and P7M13 or the VP70.

I had a USP 45 and it was 100% reliable. I just couldn't get use to the grip. Great guns; hope they keep them around.

I doubt that HK will obsolete the USP line. The P2000 came out back in 2001 and HK still releasing their USP.

The USP line is their flagship, it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. USPs are the best handguns I've ever shot and are my favorite.

I don't have hands of a giant, the full size USP and Mark23 are just too damn big. The USP compact fits my hands great. People that talk bad about HK, usually have not shot one. A few friends have went out and picked up a USP after shooting mine.

I would really like HK to come up with a sub compact, something along the size of the XDs.

P2000 is sweet and on roster! p30 im not super excited about but they are good guns. P30L is nice. Usp 45 cal is the only HK 45 that comes with more than a 10rd mag (12rds). They are still popular just ugly imo.

I agree, my USP .40 is the nicest handgun (and most accurate) I have ever shot. Very soft shooting. Unfortunately I had to list it for sale due to my current financial situation. One lucky buyer will end up taking it off my hands.
