you are missing the roll pin the sear spring uses to put tension on. all you need to do is get the new pin, hammer out the remnants of the old one, hammer in the new one, then take a screw driver and bend the leg of the sear spring down and under it. should take you less than 3 minutes provided nothing is jammed.
if you look at the left side of your gun, right next to the slide release inside the rear frame rail should be where the small pin goes.Comment

i stand corrected. figured it was like any other roll pin.Comment

Sig's CS is so terrible I literally sold my last remaining one not too long ago. I choose not to support a company that doesn't back it's product.
Good luck OP.Comment

Doesn't sound like he's the original owner, so I'm guessing you're out at least a hundred bucks with shipping both ways.

Given my personal experience with Sig, I'd definitely buy another. Looking at a P220 Match Elite before SSE ends.Comment

I have a sig p220 that I sent back last month, CS was good , shipping was fair I think ( something like $55 round trip) I bought the 220 back in 01 and have OMG round count and this is the first service. I had them do a full clean, spring replacement action job with the SRT install cost was a little over $300 . Time wise it only 3 weeks. I could have done it myself , doesn't seem hard but I'm getting lazy in my old age. besides I just bought a new sig 1911 and I "needed" to break it in. lolComment

My sig p226 sao was manufactured on Jan 2014. I just purchased it a couple months ago because of all this end of sse hub bub. I figured ooh sig makes pistols for navy seals, must be reliable. I was definitely disappointed when it failed on me. Hopefully their cs carries through. I'll call tomorrow and post an update.Comment

Called sig cs. The rep says he has never heard of this problem before even though i told him there's a thread about it on the sig forum. He provided me with a shipping label to send the pistol in for service. He said the turnaround period is 3 to 4 weeks. So I'll send it in and see what happens.Comment

Sure they do...typically where the leg has a bend in it...it's a stress point.
I just had to replace one of these style springs in another gun because the leg broke off right where it bends out from the coil.
YMMV

For me my hammer reset spring broke right at the leg. Came flying out the rear of the gun during a dry fire function test.Comment

hmmm...even though one PD in California recalled 300 of their sigs?

Since the fix, I have not heard of any further problems.
I also saw in the Sigforum, that there had been the same issues with some of the Sig 227's as well.Comment
