They won't charge you if you're the original owner. They even pay shipping both ways.

if you look at the left side of your gun, right next to the slide release inside the rear frame rail should be where the small pin goes.
That pin is a factory repair. The last armory school I went too, the instructor stated that was about the only pin that cant normally be repaired by an armorer since that pin is pressed in at the factory. There have been issues with bad pins breaking. San Joaquin County S/O. bought a group of new Sig 226's and have issues with several of the new guns pins breaking. Sig repaired them.

OP: any chance you can share your manufacture date? There's a sticker on your box with the date.

Doesn't sound like he's the original owner, so I'm guessing you're out at least a hundred bucks with shipping both ways.

Sig's CS is so terrible I literally sold my last remaining one not too long ago. I choose not to support a company that doesn't back it's product.

            Good luck OP.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is an Exeter Sig.

Opposite of my experience, their CS has been excellent. I sent in my 1911 for feeding issues, they paid shipping both ways, I had it back in about 9 days including the weekend. Could be the rep you dealt with, but it sucks that ALL reps don't treat everyone the same way.

Given my personal experience with Sig, I'd definitely buy another. Looking at a P220 Match Elite before SSE ends.

I have a sig p220 that I sent back last month, CS was good , shipping was fair I think ( something like $55 round trip) I bought the 220 back in 01 and have OMG round count and this is the first service. I had them do a full clean, spring replacement action job with the SRT install cost was a little over $300 . Time wise it only 3 weeks. I could have done it myself , doesn't seem hard but I'm getting lazy in my old age. besides I just bought a new sig 1911 and I "needed" to break it in. lol

My sig p226 sao was manufactured on Jan 2014. I just purchased it a couple months ago because of all this end of sse hub bub. I figured ooh sig makes pistols for navy seals, must be reliable. I was definitely disappointed when it failed on me. Hopefully their cs carries through. I'll call tomorrow and post an update.

Called sig cs. The rep says he has never heard of this problem before even though i told him there's a thread about it on the sig forum. He provided me with a shipping label to send the pistol in for service. He said the turnaround period is 3 to 4 weeks. So I'll send it in and see what happens.

Glad to hear they're taking care of you. I used to be a sig fanboy but my last purchase left a bad taste in my mouth. No more new sigs for me.

hmmm...even though one PD in California recalled 300 of their sigs?

Sure they do...typically where the leg has a bend in it...it's a stress point.
I just had to replace one of these style springs in another gun because the leg broke off right where it bends out from the coil.
                            YMMV

For me my hammer reset spring broke right at the leg. Came flying out the rear of the gun during a dry fire function test.

This was the San Joaquin S/O. The information I have is that 3-4 guns failed on the range. Sig reps came out and checked/replaced all the pins in the new guns.(Sig226R DA/SA)
Since the fix, I have not heard of any further problems.

I also saw in the Sigforum, that there had been the same issues with some of the Sig 227's as well.
