Glock Gen3 trigger Vs Gen4 trigger pull

Is it true that Gen3 trigger is much smoother and better than Gen4?

I have Gen 17L and Gen4 G34, trigger on Gen3 17L is superb its very nice and trigger pull on G34 Gen4 is heavy and not as smooth as 17L.

Do they have different connector or totally different trigger mechanisms?

    thanks

it seems as you answered your first question on your own. maybe if one has more trigger time the other just needs more break in time.

I own several gen 3's and gen 4's...and without question I would agree that in MY EXPERIENCE the gen 4's have a slightly stiffer trigger pull

Can we make it like Gen3 trigger by changing the connector and springs? or GEn3 will still be better than Gen4?

Grip is so much better on Gen4 than Gen3 that I want to use Gen4.

I've switched connectors on a couple of my gen 4's along with springs as well, and while that DOES improve the trigger pull, it still isn't as nice as the gen 3 IMO. Honestly, I've stopped worrying about the trigger pull of my gen 4's and I've just accommodated to shooting them the way they are and become pretty efficient with the gen 4 trigger. Without question tho, my gen 3 19 and my gen 4 23 are two vastly different triggers, but I suppose the same can be said for any two pistols. I agree with you, I prefer the ergonomics of the gen 4 but prefer the mechanics of the gen 3.

I think people are taking their brand new gen 4's home and dry firing them next to their gen 3's with 5000 rounds and going "hmm the gen 3 seems a bit lighter!"

But really the gen 3 is just broken in.

                That's what I'm hoping.

Anyone have a Gen4 with 4-5000 rnds out of it to compare to a brand new Gen3?

I have three gen 4s and six gen 3s. I have tested all the triggers with a gauge, when I get home I can give you the numbers. It is not that different between them all. But my gen3 35 has the best pull.

Great! Thanks, that would be interesting. Maybe a round count guess would help.

The gen3 G35 stock trigger is 1 lb lighter than the others so it should be the best.

The thing we need to make sure we differentiate is actual pull weight versus feel. I have several gen 4s and a couple gen 3s. I would be interested in those gauge readings, but they should be roughly the same weight (+/- a pound or so) depending on trigger bars, connectors, and wear. The feels are quite different though and it will feel quite a bit different depending on connector and trigger bar.

My Gen 4 34 was MUCH crappier than my Gen 4 19 (both stock). The 34 had a little bit of take up, then ALL the weight stacked up pretty heavily and was not smooth or really all that consistent. My 19, on the other hand, had a little bit of take up, then a fairly light and SUPER smooth pull. I mixed and matched parts to see what made them so different even though the 34 should theoretically be lighter because of the connector. It boiled down to the trigger bar. I got a spare G19 gen 4 trigger bar and put it in the 34. Now it feels great.

My 19 does probably have about 1000 rounds through it. Not that many, and it might have smoothed out SLIGHTLY but mine was so smooth from round one.

I didn't see any difference. Then again, I only have one Gen. 4 Glock.

                          I just picked up a new Gen 4 G35.

It has the best stock Glock trigger I have ever fired. Most of my other Glocks have a Ghost Rocket kit installed, along with a polish, as the stock setups just didn't get it done for me. The only thing I miss on this new G35 is the over travel stop on the GR bar. I may install a GR bar just to get the over travel stop, but I would leave everything else alone.

Here's a guy with 15 Glocks and his take on on the Gen 4 triggers:

The gen 4 trigger bar has a slight dimple on it, so when you press the trigger, the dimple rides the bottom of the slide a bit.

On the gen 3 trigger bar, that is absent.
