Need help on setting value on a Colt 1911

I have a chance to purchase a Colt Delta Gold Cup 10mm 1911 from my father in law who is in need of money so he's willing to let go of a couple guns from his collection. I need to find a fair price for both of us on it but am having a lot of trouble finding recent ones that have sold. Delta Elites seem to be fairly common but the Gold Cup is proving tough to find info on.

I don't believe this is a National Match gun but also don't know how to tell. If someone could enlighten me that would be great. This gun is in mint condition. It was made in the early 90s and is unfired. Has original box, paperwork, ect.

I'd sure appreciate the help from you guys that have more experience with these than I do. I'm looking to get a collection started and think this would be a good gun to fire it off and help my father in law at the same time.

Not really. It's exactly like that, condition is unfired and absolutely perfect in every way. No scratches, never been disassembled, I'd bet the slide hasn't been locked back more than twice.

I'm no expert, and I'm not a dealer. I collect Colts 1911's. I do gun shows in Northern Cal. to show off my Colts and mainly to expand my collection. In my opinion when someone walks up to me with something to sell I look at three things. Condition, Rarety, and box and paperwork. On the gun show circuit that pistol as you describe, because its a Gold Cup. I belive "Top Dollar" would be about $2200.00+- . Realistically a fair price would be around $1650-$1850. If your father in law would take that pistol to a Pawn shop or gun shop to sell they would offer him about $850 to $1000+-. Hope this helped.

1900/2200 is what they sell for, the ones with the "national match" roll Mark are the same Pistol no different from each other. A fair price for both would be around $1600. I have 2 mine are a little newer 1995/96 enhanced versions. That pistol in the pic is not enhanced notice the "Spur" hammer and don't have under cut trigger guard. But they are still very desired pistols especially with the box and paperwork.

You definitely don't see Delta Gold Cups at the range very often. Buy it that pistol will go up in Value they went up around $500 within the last 5/7years. Don't know why the pics are upside down?

I have a Delta Elite 10mm that looks very similar. Mine has had less than a box of ammo through it and I even have the original proof of purchase from 1989. I've been offered 1500-1900 for mine. Your Gold Cup may be be in a similar range, if not more.

Thanks for the help guys. Seems like a pretty broad range of prices I've gotten. I had a message from someone who looked it up in a blue book and that value at 100% was $1200. Hard to say what the true value is, looks like I'll just have to deal with him on that.
