Glock Revises the Glock 42

The Glock 42 (the sub-compact .380) has had some repeatable FTF problems reported by many reviewers, such as hickok45.

According to this article, the latest Glock 42's rolling off the assembly line have been substantially revised, with -1 revision markings and visible differences observed on the magazines, slide stop lever, trigger mechanism housing, and (maybe) the frame itself. Before reading the article, I called Glock customer service about this, and the rep told me that if I was getting a new unit, it would be fine, but otherwise I could mail it to them for replacement of all the affected parts. I asked him if warranty repair was any problem in shipping to California, and he said it would be no problem at all.

I put the Glock in jail yesterday, before I found about about the -1 revisions. So we'll see how it goes in nine days.

Dupe...I forget the date but you should be good to go. All new glock 42's are already shipping with the new updated parts. However, I am not too sure if they are a "fix" for everyone. Some people are still reporting issues with the glock 42. Head over to glock talk. They have a 212 page thread going on the glock 42.

Change was back in March according to the article so everything sold since Apr/May should be GTG. I don't think any distributor or retailer has had any quantity stacked up on the shelves so that the mfg date would be a concern.

do glock boxes show the date it was built on the sticker? im thinking of calling tracy rifle and asking them the date on the box of the one i got since i cant see it for 30 days

This was a 'silent' update/revision done to the G42's that Glock would (and still do when you call them) deny any knowledge of such revisions.

My G42 is an early Feb production and it's been 100% flawless for about 800-900 rounds now.

I just talked to a shop in OC and they say the revision was done 8 months ago.

The test fire date is on the envelope with the spent brass. That will get you within a day or 2.

You most likely have the new revision, but the 100% best test is just read the article I linked and then find the -1 markings (field strip only, don't disassemble like that guy did) and check the mags against the picture.

I've seen quite a few "recent" G42's that still have the old design. People who bought their G42 in August with a May or June 2014 build date still have the 1st gen G42's with no -1 markings. Just the bad luck of the draw with retailers' inventory.

Just something to be aware of and to watch out for.

Just saw some Revision #2 Glock 42 come into the shop yesterday, I forgot to look at the born on date.
