Ruger Mk III Target SSE ?

I have a mere 1 slot left on my SSE dance card. I desperately want a Ruger Mk III Stainless 5 1/2", but neither EBR nor OC Armory - my two EXCELLENT FFL go-to's - can do anything with less than a 6" barrel. Any ideas how it can be procured? Or is it really lost to me?

Some things I am thinking, maybe not even possible:
Weld an extended .22 or comp on.
    What's a smaller caliber diameter than the .22, maybe a .17 pellet?
Get the Hunter/Competition and have a smith cut the barrel shorter and sight back.

Might not be in your area, but Tracy Rifle and Pistol can SSE a Ruger SR22, so they might be able to help you.... might.

Look up Baboosh here and send him a PM. He can SSE it for you.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!
