    I was trying to wait...

But the right deals came up and my will power went out the door...

Bought me a Dan Wesson Stainless Valor and a Les Baer P2 w/1.5" guarantee last week, then went to Vegas this past weekend for my bachelor's party... It was a GOOD week! I went to shoot some full-auto in Vegas for fun, and actually met and shot with Charlie Watson from "Sons of Guns" which were good times.

Will be picking up the Valor this Friday from OC Firearms and then the Les Baer next Monday from Stockade. In case you are wondering, the Wesson was new purchase through SSE, and the Les Baer was through PPT.

Once I get them I will definitely shoot them side by side to compare. Both are tight guns. The Valor's slide racks smoothly with just a hint of resistance at the barrel and bushing lockup. No side to side or up down movement in the slide and barrel lockup at all. The Les Baer was, well, a Les Baer... Even after almost 800 rounds the gun still locks up like a vault and I still had a bit of trouble racking the slide. The barrel to bushing fit is excellent as advertised. Can't wait to see what both guns can do...

Only have stock photo for the Dan Wesson, and photos taken by the Seller for the Les Baer. Once I get these beauties I'll take more pics...

Congrats on two very beautiful 1911's. Also, congrats on tying the knot.

Pretty awesome man! I just got a DW Specialist and its amazing...much much more enjoyable to shoot than my colt. Les Baer is on my list... I am envious for sure!!!

Um ... not to brag but I just got a RIA 1911a1. If you ever want to trade let me know I can throw in some ammo.

I've read so many posts comparing these two specific 1911s so I've been wanting to get them to compare myself. I chose to get the DW first due to SSE coming to an end and because Les Baer is on the list for another year, but a very nice Calguns member had a deal I could not refuse so I said what the heck...

These will play well with my Chuck Rogers' Kimber and STI Spartan IV.

Congrats on your very nice acquisitions. The stainless Valor has been a hit lately as I got one recently myself and I would love to get a LB w/o the fcs some day.

My first 1911 (my first handgun also) was a Kimber stainless full size series I, with FCS. From the beginning I've always been fine, functionally and aesthetically, with FCS. I like the Valor which does not have it, but I also like the P2 which does have it... To me it doesn't really make a difference.

I may turn the Valor into a two-tone gun however... I'll just send the slide out for stainless bluing with mirror-polished flats...
