    SSE time

how long can a FFL take to SSE a gun . FFL is telling me they don't know when the parts are going to be available to dros my vp9 maybe 10 days or so is that normal to wait to dros? cant they use them and then disassemble the gun then reassemble after the 10 days?

Nope, need to stay in SSE format until its signed out by customer.

They say they don't know because some people pick up there pistols at day 10 others day 30.

normal wait for barrels is 1-3 weeks depending on FFL. I deal with OC firearms they make there own barrels so there is never a wait.

cool good info to know before you ship to FFL to SSE. next time i'll be driven a little farther to SSE cause this is screwing me 1 less SSE this year and if they cant do it within 8 days.

Yup, the wait can be a pita as the barrels aren't available unless the person picks up their SSE firearm and the barrel frees up or someone else is in line before you which makes the wait suck even more. Normally, I just go ahead and research my next purchase or buy things I am going to need for that specific gun.

You can always have them ship the gun to us at OC Firearms. We charge $80 for SSE, $25 for dros, CA tax, and $6 per magazine for blocking.

              I know the feeling.

What you could do is hold off on the HK VP9 and have the FFL hold it for next month. In the meantime you buy your second SSE gun now without the wait. Fill your dance card in a different order. Mine are timed exactly on the 20th of the months. Last dance December 20th, pick up on the 30th.

Good luck. Make a move or lose that last handgun you have in mind.

Are you up north or down south with the normal people? Haha.

Down south we have many very good SSE shops.
