Need to borrow a front sight tool

I've got a new M&P9 Pro that came with the front sight way off. Does anyone in the Riverside are have a front sight tool I can use to move it over, or have a good suggestion for doing it without the tool?

    Thanks!

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

    How does it shoot?
    Off to the right?
Sometimes the sights look off but they actually shoot straight.
Saw a Glock were the rear sight was all the way to the left to make it shoot straight.

Yes, off to the right. It groups very well but an annoying 3" or so off at 7 yards.

It came with standard mags neutered with magblocks and epoxy.

Do you have a vise? If you can secure the slide you can tap the sight over with a hammer/punch.

Yes. A Vice, even the cheap ones that clamp onto the edge of a table, with a hammer like the Lyman brass/plastic tipped hammer with brass punch or wood dowel, wood clothes pin, etc...

Clamp down the slide wrapped in a towel or foam, tap on the base of the sight with non-marring tool and the hammer.

Thanks, I will give this a try. I was hoping to avoid taping it over since it is hard to control the amount it moves, but it should at least get me close.

Just a tip. S&W uses a hydraulic press to put in those sights from the factory. They are in there very firm. A wood dowel, polymer, or brass punch likely wont cut it. Use a steel punch taped off with electrical tape as to not mar the slide.

I have a MGW M&P site tool, but what I remember, it doesn't work on the longer barrel Pro model. If you know of a work around, you can borrow it. I work in Riverside.

Front sights for M&P's are very tight. I recommend you don't use a hammer and punch. Borrow a sight pusher or take it to a smith.

For what it's worth, my Sig sight tool is wide enough to fit the front of an M&P. I just taped it up really well and it works good. Not great but enough for what you want to do.
