    AR Pistol Question

Sorry if this is already covered somewhere. I did search and didn't find it.

With regards to building an AR Pistol, I get that it cannot have a butt stock, a vertical fore grip, or a detachable magazine.
But, I thought I read somewhere that the barrel cannot be threaded to accept a flash hider.

(as a point of reference, it has been made as a "single shot" , and then modified to semi auto).

when I review the flow chart, step 15 (detachable magazine), answer no (bullet button), answering "no" seems to skip step 16a(threaded barrel), and moves on to step 16b(magazine more the 10 rounds).

So my interpretation is that a threaded barrel is ok, a flash hider or muzzle brake is ok.

    Is this correct?

Because an AR Pistol accepts a magazine outside of the pistol grip, it must utilize a fixed 10 or less round magazine in order to be CA legal.

Because it has a fixed 10 or less round magazine, it can legally have features that would be prohibited on a semi-auto pistol that uses detachable magazines.
So it can legally (under CA state laws) have a threaded barrel, second handgrip, and barrel shroud.

yup, the flowchart skips 16a if you have a maglock, because those features are not prohibited on maglocked pistols.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Glad I found this. I was confused about this also and almost sent mine to get pin welded! Now I don't have to risk damage to my barrel or compensator.
