Help me Pick my next 1911! Bobtail Commander??

    Hey Guys,

I am currently a proud owner of a Springfield TRP Full Rail Operator and its my favorite pistol in my collection. I just becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the .45 by day and I would like to add another 45 to my collection.

I would prefer something a tad smaller than my TRP, preferably something with a bobtail. Price is no object and with the SSE going away if my next 1911 needs to be SSE I want to make sure I get it soon.

So Commander size or smaller size than my full rail TRP, Bobtail and any additional features are just cake. Id also prefer something higher end.

What do you got for me guys??!?!?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Dan Wesson V-Bob in stainless or Duty coat which needs to be SSE or Dan Wesson C-Bob which is on roster. With a wee bit of shopping around the Dan Wesson V-Bob in stainless can be had cheaper than getting the C-Bob locally. The Duty coat version is about $200-300 more. No doubt you will get your monies worth with the V-Bob.

      This ^^^^

Dan Wesson was going to be my recommendation too. They are out of my budget now, but it's on my list.

I have a Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm getting out of jail on 9/2. The fit and finish seems pretty darn good. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Dan Wesson bobtailed models.

If you want to go cheap, I believe Metro Arms also offers a bobtail commander model.

GrabAGun seems to be the cheapest and a sure bet at $1,519.32 plus $5.99 for shipping http://grabagun.com/d-wes-v-bob-co-4...-25-st-ns.html

You can also try your luck on Gunbroker. May find one slightly cheaper than GrabAGun and hopefully ship to CA.

Anyone have any opinions on a nighthawk talon II bobtail or a predator II or II with a bobtail?

Dan wesson sure seems to have a lot of love which is awesome but the finishes seem to be fairly limited to stainless only.

I have the Kimber Super Carry Pro, it's an awesome gun, but I would get the black VBob if I was going to do it again.

Keep in mind that the Guardian in built on an alloy frame so it's a lot lighter. If you want something different than you TRP the Guardian is worth a look at.

I can't wait to get my out of jail on Tuesday.

Custom Kimber TLE-RL II been veddy, veddy, good to me.

Previous owner was a PD armorer in FL, though - HE did the bob-job.
