ok guys, I picked up the VP9 last Fri, I was hoping to get to the range on Sun, unfortunately it didn't fly with the wife since we have a 6 week old newborn.
I have a few more pics & a few more opinions on it. The VP9 trigger is going lower & lower in my opinion compared to some of the other guns. I have in my safe the PPQ, & Sphinx of course, but I also have a Sig P229 with the SRT installed, as well as a Sig P220 Carry Elite SAO with the Gray Guns work, all 4 of them have better trigger AND shorter resets than the VP9. Of course I still haven't had a chance to live fire the VP9, but handling and dry firing, it's coming up dead last in my opinion compared to the others I have in the safe right now.
Size wise, like Hickok45 said, it's pretty big, pretty close to a Glock 17, Sig P226.
See pics below.

All the dry firing nonsense and nitpicking is hilarious. You'll see what appreciable differences they are when you actually fire the guns. It seems a majority of the people are quite impressed with the VP9 after actually firing it typically commenting on how accurate it is.
I'm interested to see what the OP's experience is though as they Sphinx is what I'm looking at next.Comment

Comparing VP9 to SAO isn't exactly fair.
The trigger on my VP9 completely blows next to the trigger on my X-Five. Apple to oranges comparison though :P VP9's trigger is still good, especially after a little break in. There is more to a gun than trigger pull though.Comment

just call Mike @ OC Armory, ask him when his next shipment will come in. That's what I did, and when it came in, I gave him my cc # over the phone, and paid for it. I had to wait to DROS it anyways.Comment

Actually other than the Sig's that I don't have I so I have no opinion, I think your opinions would be similar to mine, with the exception being that I was hoping the SDP would easily beat out the PPQ.
I still love my VP9 though, the trigger is great for what it is (Striker Fired Gun), and it seems to be built really well.
I have plans to fire the PPQ and SDP with the VP9 soon to come to my own conclusions. I just think that although other triggers are better, the VP9's is still good for what it is, and still better than almost all other Striker Fired guns (except the PPQ).
I don't know of a single place in San Diego area that has any Sphinx SDP's so I might end up crossing that one off my list since it is also hard to find onlineplus wanting the Duo Tone version makes it near impossible.

haha he's kid #4... last night he was up at 1am, 3am, and my alarm went off at 6:30am. not getting much sleep. I'm at work all day & the wife is with the baby, so hard for me to justify going out to the range after work and not going home to help with the baby.Comment
