I believe they used the full checkered grips until 1960 or so. Those grips are known as type 1. I have a 1964 Python that has less checkering than those (type 2) and the later versions made starting around 1970 have even less checkering than the type 2.
And by the way, that is a very, very nice Python.MLC member.
Biden, proof that stupid people shouldn't be allowed to vote.

well I'm another Smith and Wesson guy.
but I know quality when I see it.
that thing is beautiful & the Colt blue is just amazing. I can even see reflections off the trigger.
( I'm used to the non reflective colored case hardened finish of Smith and Wesson triggers. which are beautiful in of itself but I read on a forum that most manufacturers are just artificially coloring them now and they're not truly color case hardened anymore. that's probably not true of Smith and Wesson but I don't now.)
but OP it's obviously going to just be lazy and sit around on a leather couch all day.
so I'll trade you a Glock for it...They never sit around on couches, and have a great work ethic.Comment

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Problem with this gun is I thought it would satisfy the desire for an old special gun. Well, I was satisfied for exactly a day and a half, and now can't wait to buy another.
Can't stop looking at 2.5" guns now.....sigpic
