Ive wanted one of these since I held a 238. Put the gun back and went home and found out the 938 was coming out so I held off. Since then I got sick with 2 viruses called marriage and parenthood and havent recuperated since. Think im gonna sell my ar pistol to buy one finallyComment

For those with both a 238 and 938 - how would you compare them? I have a 238, and have held a couple 938s and fired one. I would have bought the 938 but it wasn't out when I got the 238. And now i have one on my mind.
But from what I've seen, the 938 trigger isn't as nice as the 238, and the gun seems bigger in person than on paper. Overall, the 238 seems more shootable and easier to carry. The one 938 I shot was new and may need to break in a bit more. Thanks for any input - I'm very tempted to pick up a 938 but wonder if I'd just end up carrying the 238.Comment

The P938 shoots great, and for a very small, thin carry gun it works very well. I don't think the trigger is bad at all for a carry gun. When I shoot my carry guns, I train drawing from the holster, quickly putting rounds on target, and mag changes.
I think people get caught up trying to shoot for maximum accuracy with their carry guns, which IMO will hurt them should they ever need to use it. I have done almost all tactical type shooting since getting into LE over 20 years ago. I want my muscle memory to be relevant to what I am going to need should I have to use my conceal carry gun.
For a very small carry gun the P938 is a great gun IMO.
Edit: As far as the size difference between the P238 and P938, there is not much. The slide is a little longer on the P938, and the grip is slightly larger. Still by far the smallest 9mm carry gun I own. I also carry an XDs, and the P938 is much smaller.Last edited by 1CavScout; 09-14-2014, 7:48 AM.sigpicComment

I am in SoCal, so the dealer I bought it from will not be a help to you. Find a dealer that can order one for you. Mine was able to track down the model I wanted in about 1 week. I paid less than 700 bucks with SSE BTW...sigpicComment

I'm looking for something small but was thinking to go with a shield or PPS. I keep seeing these though and they look like great shooters, and quality pieces. I did read that magazine dis-assembly is a pain and they are a bit picky about hollow points. Is there any truth to that in your experience? Would it be better to carry them with standard FMJ?
I can imagine they would have nicer triggers than the PPS or shield even with trigger mods.Last edited by Justintoxicated; 09-14-2014, 11:13 AM.Comment
