Of course, really it's me shooting the G17 to the left.
I'm just trying to get some insight as to why because I also have a G21 which I'm shotting just fine. Both are fairly new gen 4 glocks and the trigger feel is pertty much the same (both appear to have the same connector). I'm pretty sure the sights are correctly aligned because when I really work at it the G17 shoots fine (so it really is me
). I just seem to have to concentrate a lot more with the 9mm than the .45.
I'm shooting standing in a two-handed stance with my shoulders square to the target. The G17 has the medium backstrap while the G21 is plain (equivalent to a G21 SF). To my hand the grip size feels about the same between the two.
The issue arises when I push the target out to about 25yds (within 15yds, I'm not really noticing any difference). I guess I could try and guesstimate a 20yd placement at the range to narrow down where things start to go south but since I'm sure it's operator error there doesn't seem much point. The grouping centers about four inches or so left of dead center but not really down any and all shots are still within the 9 ring (I'm right handed). The target I'm using looks a lot like this: http://www.pistoleer.com/shooting-ta...29%28RC%29.gif
When firing, I don't feel like I'm jerking the trigger and the pull doesn't really feel any different than the G21 (with which I can usually get a fair number of shots in the red).
One thing I have noticed is I seem hold the G21 a bit more steady when taking a while with the longer shots (which I realize would definitely effect accuracy) and I *think* the additional weight is dampening the "wandering sight" effect you get when holding on a small target for a long time. But if this was really the issue, I would expect the G17 shots would be wide kind of uniformly around the center but they are decidedly to the left.
Overall, it just seems like I have to concentrate quite a bit harder to shoot the G17 decently at distance than the G21 and I'm trying to figure out why....
