    CZ SP-01 tac vs SA

I'm curious why someone would chose the DA/SA tactical vs the cocked and locked variant.

Is the trigger overall better in the SAO only model? Less take up shorter reset anything?

Do Calgunners just want the DA/SA because it's not on the roster?

I would never carry such a beast so I was thinking of going with the SAO because I'd imagine the trigger would be better. I need some help from some of you guys that have tried both triggers please. Thanks

The SP-01 doesn't come in SAO from the factory. I own both the Tactical and the Manual safety version and I prefer the manual safety.

For one, the SP-01 is about as heavy as a 1911 so carry wouldn't be comfortable. The manual safety versions are a little more gunsmith friendly as well.

SAO is nice when converted. I can't complain about my SAO 75B.

DA/SA is nice because you can have a DA pull if you need it.

The usual answer to this type of question has always been 'get both.'
Are you asking for a comparison between SP01 Tac and SP01 DA/SA?
or SP01 Tac and 75 SA?

Some shooters want them because they want to compete with them in USPSA production or IDPA stock service pistol categories. You can't use the single action only models in those categories. They can be used in other categories. Mark

Have not tried the da/sa sp01 with decocker before as I generally do not like da/sa. With that being said, between the 75sa, the standard 75b, and sp01, I don't think any one of them is significantly better than the other, but they definitely feel different in my hands.

The 75sa is a great IMO, but if you are expecting a trigger as nice as a good 1911 trigger, you will probably be disappointed. Still like it better than many others on the market though.

Thanks for the help and some clarification. I'm just really confused about what differentiates the CZ 75 series of pistols in general. On CZ's website it doesn't really tell you much.

So the model with the safety isn't considered SAO you can fire it from DA?

Yes, operation is the same for SP01 da/sa and the basic 75B. SA with safey on or DA first shot.

It is actually SA all the way, except when you experience a light primer strike. Then, you may pull the trigger again without racking the slide for a DA shot. Or, when chambered, you can manually decock and pull in DA.

The mechanism is different from a DA/SA, such as a Beretta, wherein the first shot is DA and the subsequent shots are SA.

The SP01, like the standard 75B, is SA/DA with safety while the tactical model is SA/DA with a decocker.

Hope this helps amd did not make it more confusing.
Contrary to popular belief, the standard CZ75B DA/SA has been used in a DA first shot mode by countless users since its inception. From military users to IDPA competitors.

As far as i know all the CZ 75's are DA/SA except the CZ75 SA and the Retro witch is DA only.

Also keep in mind that most all of them also have a halfcock notch. This is the position that the decockers drop the hammer to. It is also present on the safety models. In effect it shortens the DA pull.

Someone correct me if i am wrong.

I'm biased. I have an SA. But I prefer the decocker da/SA of my
                    Other pistols.
