    Glock 34 gen4 vs CZ SP-01 Phantom

Went to the range today and did a brief and non-scientific test on two pistols: Glock 34 gen4 and CZ SP-01 Phantom.

    Both guns have some mods:

Glock 34: Meprolight Tru-Dot night sights, Titanium frame/trigger pins,
ZEV Titanium firing pin safety, lightened ZEV firing pin & safety spring, polished trigger bar, & metal backplate.

Phantom: CZ Custom competition Hammer, spring kit, and various pins. Probably a few more, I forgot. Bought it used/mod'd.

    10 yards, using both 147/124 grain Freedom Re-manufacture 9mm:

Phantom had very tight grouping. All veer to the left of the bulls eye by 2". Probably because I am left eye dominate and aiming using the left eye. But it 1 out of 7 rounds would not fire. No matter how many times I re-cock and pull the trigger. I eject it and found no strike mark on the primer. Put it back in the mag and it fired.

Glock 34, on the other hand, did not win the grouping contest. I got shots all around the bulls eye, much looser groups. But it ate the remanufactured ammo w/o any issue.

Glock was smooth as butter and made me FEEL as if I shot better, even if the result says otherwise. The exact opposite of the Phantom. I was hoping to determine a winner from the two. Looks like I need to test more. Bummer.

Does your CZ have the extended firing pin? (I got mine from cajungunworks) With lighter springs, the extended firing pin is recommended to prevent light primer strikes.

I'm curious how the SP-01 Phantom does against the new P-09.

Slow down. At 10 yards with a pimped 34 you should have a 1 inch group.

No experience with that cz model.

Ah, that make sense. I never had any issue with factory ammo before. I will have to do a tear down and verify.

How did you know I was spraying away like it was stolen?

            I have much to learn.

Change your sights on the Glock to a tighter front/rear sight set up and it will clean up. Meps have a really wide front sight. 10-8s Dawsons will do.
