For the record, there is no official word on the cut-off for SSE. Librarian posted what he felt was a safe interpretation of the laws and said he thinks they should all be picked up by the 31st.
It also seems that Baboosh has decided on the 21st as well but unless something changed, this is based on his own interpretation as an official message from the DOJ does not exist (and they might never address this cut-off according to one of his previous posts on the subject).
As of today, I still know several FFL's planning to DROS SSE until the 31st. Of course, that could change as time moves forward. My guess is that everyone will opt for the 21st cut-off to be safe.
Also, some FFL's might be closing early for New Years Eve so the cut-off time on the 21st is something to keep an eye on.
If I can DROS SSE on December 31st, I can fit in an extra SSE. Then again, I'm thinking of going out with a bang and using my December 1st SSE for a Wilson or Ed Brown. If so, there will be no money for a new years eve SSE and I will not need to worry about the deadline. All other SSE slots have been filled.
I spoke with a some of the smartest guys regarding this and I'll trust their opinion.Just a normal guyComment

Don't blame you. I'm guessing all FFL's will end up doing the same. Might even be those who use the 20th as the deadline to have a 1 day buffer.Comment

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I have changed my mind a dozen of times-from a sub compact .45, to an AR pistol, to a compact 1911, to a full size 1911 to "should I really drop $XXXX on another pistol?" The main question I am debating is which 1911 do I want to purchase, compact carry, full size, price range and manufacturer.
Anyone else know what I'm talking about in regards to SSE insanity?
So I crossed SSE 1911's off my list"While it may come as a surprise to the authors of the legislation, most semi-automatic pistols do in fact come with a pistol grip"Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is arithmetical at best.Comment

I can't convince myself to buy a gun just because it wont be available after Dec 31st. I shoot uspsa produciton and have a XDM 5.25 in 9mm already. 45 version would be nice I guess. Maybe a sr-22.Comment

I figured that would be the case. If it is I'm less than 24hrs short of getting an extra transfer in before the end of the year. Not happy.Comment
