Yeah.....but she's from Thailand and can't read English good enough to get her HSC card...

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

It also seems that Baboosh has decided on the 21st as well but unless something changed, this is based on his own interpretation as an official message from the DOJ does not exist (and they might never address this cut-off according to one of his previous posts on the subject).

As of today, I still know several FFL's planning to DROS SSE until the 31st. Of course, that could change as time moves forward. My guess is that everyone will opt for the 21st cut-off to be safe.

Also, some FFL's might be closing early for New Years Eve so the cut-off time on the 21st is something to keep an eye on.

If I can DROS SSE on December 31st, I can fit in an extra SSE. Then again, I'm thinking of going out with a bang and using my December 1st SSE for a Wilson or Ed Brown. If so, there will be no money for a new years eve SSE and I will not need to worry about the deadline. All other SSE slots have been filled.
It can be very bad to end up with 50-100 pistols you can't release January 1st.

I spoke with a some of the smartest guys regarding this and I'll trust their opinion.

Nope, that's how I can afford to buy the guns in the first place.

Don't blame you. I'm guessing all FFL's will end up doing the same. Might even be those who use the 20th as the deadline to have a 1 day buffer.

I feel that prices will sky rocket around November. Maybe sooner.
You hit it right on the head! I did just this today, as there are lines already forming for SSE kits..

You're causing your own insanity. You can't have it all. Unless you have unlimited funds.

The main question I am debating is which 1911 do I want to purchase, compact carry, full size, price range and manufacturer.

I had the same thoughts on a 1911. They have been around for a hundred years and there are several hundred thousand, perhaps millions, already in the State. They were the first guns to be available for SSE for the longest period of time.

So I crossed SSE 1911's off my list

I can't convince myself to buy a gun just because it wont be available after Dec 31st. I shoot uspsa produciton and have a XDM 5.25 in 9mm already. 45 version would be nice I guess. Maybe a sr-22.

I figured that would be the case. If it is I'm less than 24hrs short of getting an extra transfer in before the end of the year. Not happy.
