1911 Idea For SSE...Best Bang For Buck?

    Hi All,

    I'm late on this SSE thing. I want a 1911 but don't have $3000 -5000 for a Wilson?

What about SIG SAUER 1911 Traditional Reverse Two-Tone?

    Any help is appreciated.

The Sig I mentioned earlier is listed on the Sig website at about $1200.

I would spend $1500 and would go $2000 depending on weapon.

      What are your thoughts?

Dan Wesson specialist or Warren Tactical in 9mm

Why? Because after SSE is gone a railed 1911 options are limited to Sigs.

Dan Wesson Valor in stainless or Duty finish. Best production 1911 made in the US. Stainless will run about $1,6xx otd. Duty finish will be about $1,9xx-2,0xx otd.

            Hi Jack,

I never even thought about Dan Wesson. I will take a look.

            Thanks

              Hi Bee,

Thanks, for your help. I will look into it today.

I'm sure he has a website.

I will keep you posted on my decision.

I wouldn't let SSE drive your purchase decision. There are plenty of nice 1911s on the roster. However, if the one you want is off roster, then that's the way to go.

Unless you absolutely hate the rail, I'd lean you towards any railed 1911 because after SSE goes away, anybody wanting a railed 1911 will have to almost exclusively get it from Sig.

I'd go towards a Springfield TRP or Operator or a Kimber TLE/RL II or something like that. If you like S&W's 1911 I'd look toward their stuff too.

I would say, 1911 Springfield Armory...(model take your pick...whatever makes you tickle)*

*Only becoz SA is given away for a limited time 3 extra Magazines + dual magazine pouch! See website!

(Magazine aren't cheap, well the factory ones aren't cheap)

Dan Wessons are the best value in a quality 1911 on the market. Study up why.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

1911 mags aren't that expensive in relation to a 1500 dollar gun to let that be the deciding factor. You'll have the gun for life. Not that I would shy away from a SA, they are nice and may well be your choice and the mags would be a sweet bonus, but that wouldn't factor too heavily in my decision if I were you.

Love my trp but you should look at sti. I have recently purchased a duty one in 40 and a tactical ss in 45 and could not be happier with the quality.

honestly, if you're talking literal "bang for the buck," a RIA tactical for 429. Could buy six for the price of a Baer and it will do 95% of the stuff the same, albeit with less brownie points.
