Gun socks for storage good or bad?

Hard part is remembering what's in the safe when its that full. And restacking them all to fit again when you take them out from the rear of the safe.......

I use Bore-Stores for 90% and gun socks for the other 10%. They are much thicker than gun socks so provide better cushioning/scratch resistance. They are slightly more expensive than socks for handguns and about double for long guns. Watch for sales from Borestores.com.
I was told by the MFR NOT to wash the silicon out of the material. I am very close to the beach and haven't had any rust yet (2yrs). I am very happy with the Bore-stores.

They are usually labeled tactical gun socks lol.

I still have some doubt that will fit over the 24" barreled AR10 with a giant scope on it..

So do you guys rip out the dividers in your safes when using the socks? I'm trying to find a way to fit more stuff but you know your getting full when it takes 30 minutes to remove a rifle in the back and tetris the others back into place. I'm thinking gun socks would just make it harder to find what I am looking for.

Is the oal longer then 47"? If it's not, then it should fit since the sock is 47" long. They also have a tag at the end so you can label them.

There are also 52" wide versions to use with scoped rifles.

When you start running out of room in your safe, the options are a bigger safe ($$$$$) or gun socks ($). I think all that I've seen are impregnated with silicone. So you may not want to wash them or you may wash the rust preventative silicone away.
