Wonder if it has a US frame? In the picture it shows one.

        Can't wait to handle one.

How would you go about getting one expeditiously?

That is common for a compact 1911. I know there are one or two steel frame compact 1911's but I can't think of the make at the moment.

Is the aluminum frame a deal breaker for some? I was drooling over this as a possible last SSE purchase. I like the idea of carrying with the thumb safety over the Glock 30 (but I have yet to carry, shoot or own either of the two pistols).

G30 because why not 10rd compact .45, but how many carry with one in the chamber with their Glocks?

A US frame vs. what other kind?

                  Not me.

Run it greasy and it will last for Ever.

The aluminum/alloy frames are not a problem with the ramped barrel. The ammo feeding will tap into the steel barrel ramp and not the frame.
The finish from the frame and slide will be a little off, and you can see that in the pictures above. To get a true matching finish for a showroom look, than a coated on finish (cost more) would need to be done.

USA frame, well everyone defines it differently. Forged here or the 51% standard rule. We do know that they have not imported ready made 1911 from Brazil anymore (those "N" serial numbers) for a while now (the 1911 that have been discontinued the past few years). Looks like it is a company trade secret where they source their frames now. Doubt they will ever release that information (same as where Lone Wolf sources their barrels, no one can confirm), and as with any 1911 company they will not tell you where they get their components. Well, Wilson will disclose since they make them in-house . As far as I am concerned, great company, great product, great service, based in America making an honest living, all good in my book.

Still wish they made it in 9mm or make some soon =|

                        Carry that way everyday.

I thought Springfield got their forgings from Imbel in Brazil?
