    Mares Leg cal?

Thanks to a shameless touch of mall-neensha, I mostly favor the tactical weapons but when rolling into my LGS i spied a mares leg in .357/38....

I had never seen one before and didnt even know they existed...however it hasnt left my mind....

Is there a preference between the .357 vs .44 in the mares leg platform? are there other calibers?

Any input is appreciated, thanks guys.

I couldnt help but wonder if the mares leg was any part of a contributor to the beginning of "tactical".?

                    Is it CA legal?

The Henry is not for sale in CA according to their website.

Back in the heyday of the TV Western, Steve McQueen, the star of "Wanted: Dead or Alive," rode across black-and-white screens toting a sidearm like nothing any lawman or outlaw had carried before. A cut-down, modified version of repeating rifle, this recognizable shootin’ iron could be holstered like a pistol but fired with the speed

I personally would go with the 357 mag as other calibers will pack quite a punch. Even though it has a stock, from what I have seen, it is very difficult to shoulder the stock to support more stout loads.

It is through single shot exemption.

Consider if you really really want one. I heard (have no personal experience, so ... grain of salt here) that it can be awkward to shoot. Too short to shoulder, too long to hold as a pistol.

I mean, it's cool and all...but do you really want it? I mean, you'll have to get that long holster for it too!

Full length rossi 92s are around 450 or so I think.

I went with the Rossi in 38/357 from EBR Works as I have other revolvers in that caliber as well as regular lever action M92 rifle. All that needs to be done to single shot it is a wooden dowel. It's great fun to shoot and an attention getter at the range.
