    M&P Shield Sights

I was thinking of upgrading the sights on my Shield.
Anyone here have any experience with aftermarket sights on the Shield?

I previously had Warren Tacticals with an I/figure 8 setup on a Glock 23

Im thinking of these for my Shield

Have that exact set up on my Shield and I love them. You won't get a tremendous amount of precision from them due to the size of the front sight, but they are super easy to acquire quickly and accurate enough. Liked them so much that I threw a set on my full size M&P.

I prefer standard 3-dot sights and have the Ameriglos on mine. Trijicon also makes night sights. Good luck with the install!

I recommend 10-8 performance sights. I prefer a blacked out rear sight though. Ameriglo would be my second choice, I like that both companies offer a multitude of sizes in width for both front and rear.

Before you decide, look at my TruGlo TFO on my Shield.

I'm not sure night sights on a carry gun are worthwhile, considering it's intended use .. close up personal defense.

IF you also use the same gun for home defense, then that's a different story and night sights are important (to me anyway). I like my Truglo TFOs

I put trijicons on my shield. If you do it yourself, put the slide in the freezer for a couple hours. The stock sights were tight!!!

Here is my thought on this.. what is the harm? What is lost? Nothing. But what is gained? The ability to use the weapon in lower light or no light conditions.

It being a home defense or CCW gun makes no difference in my mind as why would I only want the benefit of low light or no light shooting on my home defense pistol? So CCW uses only occur in perfect light?

As a rule of thumb, I put night sights on all of my pistols. A pistol needs sights. You have them there already. So if you need them to begin with, why not have a set that can do 2 things versus a set that can do 1.

No harm or loss, except a little lighter wallet which doesn't matter to many people.

CCW use seldom occurs in good light. Also essentially never occurs where you have the time or ability to get a sight picture of any kind. Point & shoot practice should be part of anyone's training.

I'm not opposed to night sights, heck I have them on all my carry guns too. I don't consider them a necessity.

I like using the Ameriglo ProGlo front sight (bright orange sight with tritium in the middle, along with Ameriglo Operator rear sights (no white outline around the tritium).

The 2 main reasons being, 1) They sit slightly lower on the slide than Trijicon HD sights, and 2) they're a little more than half the price of the Trijicon HD sights.

I like the defoor all black sights. Good sights if you use in conjunction with white light

I prefer HiViz FO and a 10-8 rear sight.
