Question about AR pistols in CA

This topic might have been discussed here already, so I apologize in advance if I'm beating the dead horse here.

I'm interested in getting one of those LWD G9 pistol lowers, but I'm still on active duty with CA being a very likely future duty station and I'm not sure about the legality on these there. Basically I'd like to get one of their 9mm pistol lowers with the Sig arm brace and a 10.5" upper. Their lower receivers have kind of oddly shaped magazine releases that no one makes bullet buttons for, but I was wondering if I'd even need one since it's technically a pistol and not a rifle. Anyone here have any info on this? Will it be legal in that configuration and would I need a bullet button?

AR Pistols of all calibers in CA needs a bullet button since magazines are inserted outside of the grip.

No bullet button on an AR pistol in CA = AW

Wait he said he is "active duty with CA being a very likely future duty station" this means he is exempt from the California non-sense unless he declares California as his legal state of residence. So can bring it to California as long as he lives on base and keeps his out of state driver license.

              Negative.

Any and all guns brought into the state must comply with California laws. Does not matter if he lives on base, keeps his out of state DL, etc.

Please, please, please. Be careful what you post. DO NOT give WRONG information that may potentially lead to someone breaking the law, ending up in jail, and/or ruining their [military] career.

Yeah, from what I've gathered active duty have to comply with CA AWB laws while stationed there. Just wasn't sure if the AWB applied to pistol ARs.

So, do you really want to get some poor soldier locked up for years? If not, quit giving BAD legal advise.
