Sig 229DAK

Had the DAK trigger on my P239 SAS and it was a long but smooth trigger pull. It was okay but not really what I was used to. Switched it out for the SRT DA/SA trigger. Luckily, they are not terribly expensive so IF you switch out and don't like it, you can easily switch back.
It wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about.
You gonna get it new? or did you find a good deal on one that was "previously enjoyed?"The only thing a Non-conformist hates more than a conformist is a non-conformist who doesn't adhere to the standards of non-conformity. -
I have had one for about four years. I like it. But I grew up using a double action revolver. To me it is all about practice on the gun you choose to use.
I currently carry a DA/SA Sig 220, but I am considered converting one of my 220's to DAK as well. It boils down to what is good for you.Comment

I had one and sold it. I couldn't find a use for it, it was larger and heavier than my Glock 23 for carry, trigger was too long for target use. It was cool just didn't fill any niche I needed.
eta. If I was a revolver guy and was forced to carry a pistol as a duty weapon then it would fit the bill.Last edited by joe_sun; 08-10-2014, 9:15 AM.Comment

I have a P226 in DAK I am not a good huge fan of DA/SA and I have most of my pistol training on Glocks I have found that the DAK is a great transition trigger for people who are used to DAO. I have a full review here on the DAK.
Also here is a written review of the DAK

I have the Gen 1 P229 SAS. It came with the DAK trigger. I thought the trigger was fine, but felt funny switching between my other Sig pistols, which are all DA/SA. I little while ago I sent it back to the Sig factory for the Sig Full Service Package, and while it was at the factory I had them switch it to DA/CA. Cost about $50 if I recall, including parts. The one thing I didn't like about the DAK was the long take-up in the trigger. You really had to stage the trigger for subsequent shots, which felt weird come from DA/SA.
BTW, the Sig service package is an awesome deal. For $99 (through Sig rep that frequents Calguns) they change out all the springs, put in new nightsites, check all the functionality and test the gun.Comment

That's good to know. Wonder if that service is offered with used pistols as well. You can give peace a chance...

Yeah, it is. Actually sent back two guns at the same time (they waived shipping charged on one, another bonus). The other gun I sent back at the same time was a Sig 1911 SSS Rail. I picked it up used from another calgunner with about 2k rounds down the pipe. The grip-safety spring seemed a little worn but otherwise a great deal on a gun in great condition. The factory slapped on new night sights, put in all new springs and the gun feels like new.
It's actually a great reassurance when I consider buying a used Sig. The Sig rep here on Calguns is Jay Bernotas.Comment
