    Which do I SSE next?

Colt Gold Cup Trophy SS or Colt Series 70 Government?

I currently have a Colt Delta Elite 10mm in jail and looking to SSE another 1911 in 22 days.

My goal is do 1 each month before the year is up, so going with both is also an option for now. With possible unexpected expenses that might come up, I need pick them carefully at a time.

As much as I enjoy shooting, I like collecting slightly more. So I'm looking for somthing to better my collection and also great to shoot when it's turn comes up to take to the range. So which one do I get first?

    Thanks in advance.

The series 70 is nice, but the GCT is really nice. I have more than a few 1911s and my trophy is one of the nicest shooters several thousand rounds zero malfunctions. I think only 2 MIM parts has a stainless MSH and really tight slide to frame. I would go hold and look over both before you make a decision.

Series 70 was and is the best Colt. JMO.

Incredible resale value as well. Find a nice one.

A good Clone would be the Ruger SR1911 (also off Roster) but not as valuable or collectible as the Colt.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

Thanks everyone. The series 70 has been on my list for a while, it's time to stop putting it back for somthing else and buy it.

My next question is, this is a brand new series 70 Colt. Being that this is a new production series 70 is the quality still the same, worse or better as they were before the 1991 started coming out?

The series 70 is going to be just under $1200 which sounds like a good price compared to a few used ones that have come up in marketplace.

Colt's quality has really increased since they incorporated CNC machines. There are a lot of folks on the 1911forum that believe the current colts are the best guns they have made in a long time. I only have experience with Colts that were made after 2011 and they have all been great.

The only 1911 I own is a Colt Series 70. Very nice gun.
