    Blackthorne 1911 slides

So I'm familiar with the blackthorne/vulcan/hesse stigma. however, I have not read anything bad about their 1911 slides.

One of my junior Marines at work bought one without doing research into blackthorne and I told him it was probably going to be junk, since it was only $119 and they had over 300 in stock.

Dude, these things are actually decent! after his came in and I checked dimensions, they are close to max tolerances but everything fits well and they are nice with novak sight cuts.

One of my other coworkers bought an RIA slide/barrel combo and in my opinion this Blackthorne slide is much nicer.

no I don't work for blackthorne, but I just wanted to throw out there that this is a good source of cheap slides.

That's cool that it's setup for adjustable sights because the milling is expensive for that.

Did you have a chance to out it on a frame to check the fit?

I attempted to fit it on my buddy's 1911 frame (working on his trigger). his frame is cut to his specific slide and the blackthorne slide went on it about half way and tightened up. so i know the tolerances are there.

That's exactly what you want. Get out the lapping compound and you will have a nice fit.
