    My New Babies Have Arrived!!!!!

I was owed some back pay on my government retirement. They said they were going to take up to 120 days to pay me, so I was expecting the money in July. But when they said that, I guess they figured they would wait the 120 days, then round up to the nearest future payday, because I actually got the back pay on August 1st. But in June I started looking at a high end 1911 to spend it on.

I googled, searched here on Calguns, and searched on the 1911forums. I found a few references to a "George Talia" out there, but didn't know who it was. Then I found a few references to "Michigan Gunslingers", but didn't know about that either. Finally found the Gunslingers website, where I found the famous George Talia. They were one and the same. Everywhere I had read his name, people said "George took care of me" or "George hooked me up" and other things like that. Well let me tell you it is true. George had a Nighthawk Custom GRP 1911 chambered in 10mm that I just had to have. So I asked him if I could make payments on it. He said yes, and I put $500 down on it. He didn't even tell me how much to pay monthly or when I had to have it paid off by, although I told him that SSE would be going away in December so I would have to have it paid off by then.

Not more than two weeks later, I went back on his website and found a brand new Wilson Combat CQB that I just drooled over. And the price was right at $2800 and some change. I emailed him and told him I wanted it but didn't have the money right then. I explained that I was expecting some back pay in July and I told him that if he still had it I would buy that one too. Well he surprised me by telling me that if I could put down only $50 he would hold it for me. Even though I hadn't even paid off the other pistol yet!! I couldn't believe it, but I jumped at the chance. Well on the first of August I got my back pay and sent George a check for the remaining balance. He mailed the pistols to a local gun store to start the SSE and DROS here in California and they just got here yesterday afternoon. I went down this morning to take pictures. I'll start the DROS on the Nighthawk tomorrow and the Wilson will have to wait for another month. Here are some pics:

This is a picture I took this morning at the gun store, of both of them together on the counter. My new babies

I will post the pics of the Wilson Combat CQB on anther post, not thread, but post. Give me a few minutes.

Very, very nice. Both of them. Congrats. Love those nighthawk grips.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, but do it first.

Congrats Seaweed. You have some outstanding taste sir. Beautiful babies you have there.

I have 1 SSE slot left for December and will do everything in my power to fill it with a Wilson Combat Professional.

        Enjoy your new 1911's!

          Wilson Combat CQB

Here is the Wilson Combat CQB from George Talia's Website. It is a bare bones pistol with no flush cut anything, no night sights, no magwell, no nothing extra. But it was only $2800 so I loved it. It has the Wilson Logo on the right side rear of slide, and Wilson combat engraved on the right side dust cover. The rear sight is a U shaped battle sights, and the front sight is a green fiber optic sight blade.

Here is the left side from Gunslinger's website, naked slide on this side:

Here it is from the gun store this morning:

Both of these pistols are glassy smooth, and super tight. No movements in either of the slides what so ever. I love them both and hope to enjoy them for years to come. My sons will have some fine weapons when I die.

If that is really the way you feel. Give George a call. He is not pushy in any way, and his guns go pretty quick, but he is one of the only places to have a lot of inventory in stock. He sells them fast, and then gets more in. And he will let you make payments on the gun. I may try to get a Guncrafter Industries before SSE goes out. Although I now have a Les Baer, an Ed Brown Special Forces, and these two new 1911's so I may not buy anymore. But he has a couple GI's that I like, and I think he has a couple of the Wilson Combat Professionals as well.

although all 1911 designs look good to me..those ones look great.

make sure you give us a test evaluation report when you take them out to the range.
