    100 round "wake up" drill

Travis walks through in detail his warm up routine when hitting the
range. Weather you are out for the day or only have 2 boxes of
ammo to work with this drill will help improve your performance by
focusing on the fundamental processes to achieve your goal of
becoming a better shooter and prevent getting into training ruts.

Don't worry guys, this drill is already old news since it came out 3 weeks ago, I'm sure hell have another 15 must have new drills by next month we all must know to be proficient with firearms in a "time is life situation" we all must train for even tho we can't do 5 min of cardio/shoot the side of a barn to begin with.

My above post just made me realize I don't have enough combat pants to last me a zombie apocalypse. I need to go get another 100 pairs by tonight. You just never know

Edit: sorry, forgive my ignorance I forgot Zombie Apocalypse was so 2013

Did you watch the video? He stands static the whole 20 minutes.

His mention of the "inch worm" with the trigger pulls will probably help me immensely with my trigger pulls. Can't wait to try it out at the range!

Yes I watched the video, and as every training video since 2008, it's simple marksmanship training with some hoaky tactical name, and tactical tacos thrown in to make it seem new and tactical. He's teaching you trigger squeeze and grip fundamentals. THE SAME TECHNIQUES HE HAS TAUGHT YOU THE LAST 18 DVD's HES MADE!! Lol

How are you guys not getting this premiss but find it new and exciting cause it has a new title and some new challenge thrown in aka closing your eyes??

I've never done his drill and if you give me 50 takes at 3' from the target I'm sure I could pull the same group at least once.

I need to get my aggression out, I think I'll go do some Funker Tactical AK push-ups

Edit: Ok I didn't watch the ENTIRE video, but after watching the 100th video of Travis explaining trigger squeeze and presentation for 10 min I can only watch the same thing for so long then I skipped ahead few times and then just closed the video.

It's been a slow week for me. I have to admit I have been ODing on CGN the last few days. My youtube recommended feed/Netflix list has been pretty dry.

Hoss - that was pretty bad ***... No hoaky tactical magpul part 536, just good clean fun shooting. That was exactly my speed haha

I'm over all the special forces tactical training. I've been and gone the through that stage of my shooting already. Once I hit age 20 I realized how even tho I try I won't be an operator like everyone else

                      Good.

Tho, I'm not sure where you're getting all this "special forces tactical training" bit from. It's just Travis on the 3 yard line talking about good ways to use 100 rounds of ammo.

It's clear that you didn't watch the video, but if you actually have watched "every training video since 2008" then you'll know once he left Magpul Dynamics his videos got a lot more focused and less "hollywood".

But carry on and rage quit.

I'm not trying to rage quit I'm just trying to hold back from ranting and lookin like an a** hole lol

But I'll calmly explain. To start again I left all that look cool combat tactics ninja stuff back after I started realizing firearm fundamentals and basic skills are much better to have than running around the range like yahoos copying magpul guys with our $1,600 rigs we put together looking like we are training for special forces but having not a clue what we were doing just trying to look cool for Facebook.

So I left all that fantasy shooting and running around and command calls training for the invasion of Russia and Facebook videos to focus on basic marksmanship fundamentals and more of the match side of things. Not seriously but casually.

As far as the video yes I did watch the video again entirely and again it's basic fundamentals, the fact people needed Travis to explain the human world, mind and body runs on cadence and patterns and how to simplify again basic fundamentals and slow things down before you speed things up is basics 101 for anything. Start slow, take it slow and work your way up. Simple I learned that in tee ball...

Not as to Travis he's i do hold some respect for him for as you said, yea he is not as "Hollywood" as the rest but to a point he still banks on the tactical fads to fuel his career again this video was no different than any other video from the 80's explaining cadence, slow and steady and basic fundamentals but again he out a new fancy title on the video/"drill" and said it's what he does so now 800 people are going to be running this drill this weekend in their combat pants and high speed gear. So no he's not a sell out as many as the others and yes his videos do actually have more basis on fundamentals than the rest of the goons but his still poses for "Soldier Of Fortune" mag sporting all the highest tactical operator gear possible looking like he's still a hired gun or combat contractor.

**Im sure we both can agree this was not on patrol and in action as he's trying to look as if he's in combat for his paid photo shoot to sell mags, guns and gear and bank on the "tactical community" **

So this drill being useful in a way? Yea. But did we really need Travis to simple explain take it slow and work your way into speed? No. He's teaching things that have been taught for the last 15 years but again just putting new names on the video and calling it new and revolutionary in "warm up regiments" to further your mag dump shooting accuracy.

So yes as most it did have a educational spine to the drill, but it's common sense. The word it self, warm up. Is what he just explained. I do this at my range every day before I hit a match. Go static shooting and focus on my trigger squeeze and slow shooting then work up to faster cadence and farther distances. Again nothing new, but because Travis pushes it and it has a fun name it's new and improved and revolutionary way to warm up.

No hate I just call it what it is. A rebranded tee ball basics, warm up drill lol

I think you read too much into this because of your apparent hate for this guy. It's MEANT to be a basic warm up drill - or a quick range trip if you only have 100 rounds. Nothing more, nothing less.

You're fabricating an argument just to be upset.

If it helps one person pick up a new trick that in turn helps him or her shoot better, is it not worth making the regurgitated video? Nothing he shows here was new to me, and in fact, the whole first half was exactly what we warmed up with in the last handgun class I took - however you see in this very thread that one shooter picked up a trick they are going to try out.

As far as the tactical fads claim.. have you not heard of his company? Its his job... at least he doesn't claim to be an expert without having actually been hands-on like some out there. Im not a Haley fanboi, just don't see the hostility here

I have no hate for Travis, I can't stand these new age "operators" who did a basic your over seas and came back home or review a couple guns on youtube then took a NRA basic course and now some how have a say on teaching people how to kill other people and "combat" proven techniques and it's all BS feeding the masses to make good on the "operator" market.

Again as a person I have respect for Travis, dudes a bad a**, but for the commandos who run around the ranges running combat drills with their new SWAT gear they got last week muzzle sweeping half the range with lasers and flashlights running around the ranges because of this crap. These videos fuel that fantasy and are banking and feeding those very people. THAT is what I have hate for.

But for Travis him self, no I do not I actually in a way respect the guy.
