    Pocket Carry 9mm

Saw the other thread about pocket carry. Got me thinking I should look into while SSE is still available. Looking for a pocket carry 9mm. Roster does not matter.

I know PM9 is a good choice, but any others I should look at? I have a Sig P938. So if I were to look at something, it should be smaller than that. I think the PM9 is about 1/2" shorter on overall length. Width and Height seems to be very similar.

    Thanks.

PM9 is a fine choice, CM9 is just as good. The LC9 seems to be the standard, and the Shield is making waves.

The best pocket gun is a revolver, in my opinion. An S&W 642/442 .38 special or Ruger LCR. Pocket carry isn't optimum, I think. I would choose a Glock 26 in the waist band over a PM9 in the pocket. Easier draw, higher capacity, lower price, and more comfortable to carry.

Best of luck in your choice!

Plus the 642 hammerless can be fired from inside jacket pocket if needed.

How does the size of of the LC9 compare to the Sig P938? From the specs on the website of both, the overall length seems to be the same. With the 6 round mag on the Sig, it's has a shorter overall height.

Any other recommendations besides a revolver. Since it's on roster, I rather look at getting non-roster pocket carry 9mm while SSE is still available.

          Thanks.

Just going by the original post. The Sig may be a bit slight in height compared to the LC9... but in concealability and shootability, I think the difference is negligible, leaving capacity to be the deciding factor.

Diamondback DB9 is really small and compact, more than a Kahr PM9.

My only gripe is there's no slide lock on it, but the ones I've **** have been flawless. If I didn't already have other carry-sized 9mm pistols, I'd get a DB9 before the end of the year.

I dunno if how the db9 are functioning now.... But they had tons of problems when they first came out about two years ago..

I wouldn't really consider the PM9 to be a pocket gun unless you're talking about cargo pants or you're a really big dude with giant pockets.

pm9/p938/solo all are pretty much carry the same when it comes to size and weight. I like the kahr pm9 better because it has nothing to snag on, and ultimately thats the reason why I carry the pm9 (I do own a sig p938 also, but it doesnt get out much).

If you want to go lighter and smaller, you are going to go into 380 territory.

I have no experience with the db9.

I bought and sold a kimber solo. It was a beautifully well made firearm, and it had a beautifully smooth trigger, but it was really finnicky with ammo selection. Mine loved hot defensive loads, and hated regular target loads. I sold it because of the ammo issues and because I already had the p938 and pm9, but man it was a really nicely made gun.

                        YMMV

If price isn't an impediment, then maybe check out the Rorhbaugh R9. All indications are they're incredibly well made and about as small as one dares make a 9mm, however, watching folks shot them on youtube is interesting to say the least (doesn't look fun).

Personally my Kahr CM9 fits fine in cargo shorts pockets for summertime carry and I can actually shoot it pretty well to boot (and it didn't break the bank either)...
