    Holster(s) for M&P 9

    Anybody have this holster?

What do you like and/or dislike about it?

I notice it's like half the price of other BT's I've looked at... why?

This would be for an M&P FS, recreational use & maybe light competition later.

What others do you like in this price range?

Also, anybody using a Blade Tech gun belt? GTG?

Not sure if it is the exact same one, but I have the blade tech that comes in the idpa kit, so it isn't one of their higher end models either. It's decent enough, seems to have good retention, just wish it had a bit of a shirt guard, that is my only complaint

I have this one and I really like it. Use it all the time. Highly adjustable, tension adjustable, good retention and stays put. Has both belt loop and paddle mounts. I think I only paid $17 + shipping and have been using it for a few years now. Size 17 is for FS M&P.

I have a brand new Comp-tac paddle holster and mag holster for your M&P9 that I don't need (I recently sold my M&P9). Solidly built, adjustable, and made in the USA.

It's probably one of the best kydex holsters you can find for the M&P. PM me if you are interested.

I have one of these. It works and does what its supposed to do, no real major complaints. It has adjustible retention and a couple of different mounting options. The reason it's so cheap is because it's not custom molded kydex. It's injection molded plastic so it's cheaper to manufacture. Because of this the tolerences are not as perfectly formed to the pistol as kydex. I found that the portion which covers the trigger guard comes out a little bit too far beyond the bottom of the trigger guard so when practicing a lot of draws at speed, it can cause some abrasion or blisters on your middle finger (at least it did for me). Nothing a little medical tape or dremel cant address though.

That is pretty much it. It is injection molded rather than molded from a sheet of kydex

I have one for my M&P 40 and would agree with most of pipboy's comments. I haven't noticed what he mentions about the area near the trigger guard though. It feels fine to me but I haven't done a ton of practicing with it yet. I've practiced with about 300 rounds run through my pistol and some here and there with an empty pistol (with no mag).

Just to clarify my comment about the extra material around the trigger guard, really, it's a non-issue under normal use (plinking, training or competition conditions). You most likely won't notice it at all.

When you will notice it, is when you do multiple reps drawing as fast as you can. In my quest to work towards consistent sub 1 second draws to first shot, my middle finger definitely noticed it. YMMV.

Bladetech advertises the Revolution's material has having good resistance to high temperatures. In theory that should cause less wear to a guns finish than kydex. When kydex becomes soft, when holstering a hot gun, particulates get embedded into the material and become abrasive to the guns finish. This should lessen that. I think.
