    Glock 45 caliber - 21 or 30?

Ok, I always thought the "Glock Love" on the Internet was a little too hyped. Happens to motorcycles, cars, etc. - somehow something gets mentioned and attracts attention and then everyone wants to join the group. I ended up in the Glock club by trying to dismiss it while finding something else that worked as well and in the end came to the Dark Side anyway.

Now I'm considering replacing my 1911 with a 45 caliber Glock. For those of you with time firing both the 21 and 30, I'd appreciate any feedback on the overall package. If we ever get to carry in SD it would probably not be a primary carry gun so concealment isn't a critical consideration; more interested in how the length and weight balance the caliber. Primary use would be home defense and target shooting.

This would be a Gen4 SSE, if that sways your opinion one way or another. Thanks in advance!

I like my 21 much more than my 30. The 30 is just too small to shoot comfortably and get a good grip on with the short grip. For me, the 21 is much more comfortable and accurate to shoot and I just enjoy shooting it more

Then look into a G41, if you are not concerned about carry.

              1) keep 1911, you'll regret it otherwise, plus every good American needs one
              2) Depending on the size of your hands, you might find the 30 to be too small without pinky extensions on the mag, or the opposite - the 21 might be too big if you have smaller hands
              3) I agree with the G41 if youre not carrying it, it would be the sweetest to shoot of the three

I like both. Have G30, have shot G21. G30 is a short grip.

That said, I am most comfortable and accurate with my 1911.

I have both and I prefer the full length grip of the G21. For ccw then I'd get the G30 without a doubt. I have no idea how people can ccw a G21. It's like trying to conceal a Desert Eagle (I'm exaggerating).

This! Just get a 30 for conceal carry, keep the 1911 for range.

As noted above, take a serious look at the model 41. Same Generation 4 frame as the model 21, but a thinner slide. If I understand stand it correctly, it is the same slide as on the 34 and 35, without the top cut.

I like all my Glocks for different reasons, but my G21SF is becoming my favorite one to shoot. It's a big gun, but if not worried about CC then the size does not matter.

Thanks all. I may keep the 1911 around but the more I shoot Glocks the more I like having no external safety along with the general commonality across the different models.

As for the 41, I am familiar with it but will take a closer look.
