    Walther PPS 9mm to try?

Does anyone know of a place in OC (or maybe north SD county) that has a 9mm PPS available in stock to hold? Even better if I can fire it.

Or if someone is really nice I'd be OK with meeting at a local range (PM me if this is the case) and trying the PPS there with both of the back straps if at all possible (I've found it to make a huge difference sometimes). I can compensate you some 22 or 9 if you really want.

With a limited number of SSE left for the year, I'm debating between this and a non-CA Shield w/o the safety (I've been able to see, try, etc. the shield already) and wouldn't want to "burn" one of them on something I didn't like.

I handled a PPS, and a Shield, and XDS when I was in Seattle, they are all about the same size, but the trigger on the pps is better in my opinion than the Shield & XDS. PPS is going to be my Sept sse.

I was really impressed with the PPS, too. Overall, you really can't go wrong with a Walther and if you ever want to sell it, they tend to hold their values very well.

Sorry, don't know of any places that rent a PPS. But, in my opinion, it is a better firearm than the Shield. It feels great in the hand and has a great trigger, but it's a little bit bigger than the Shield.

ruddogg would you mind letting me see the pps when it comes in?

everywhere i've looked online opinions seem to be split 50/50 between the two. i myself am leaning towards a no safety shield b/c i have a feeling they will be harder to come by in CA later on... unless we are allowed to modify CCW items later on.

no prob...it's on my SSE list to buy for 09/21/14, so by end of Sept, early Oct I "should" have it in hand if all goes according to plan... unless that VP9 doesn't come in to Audiophil2 before 08/22, then I might DROS the PPS before the VP9.

Sounds good. Sooner would be better for me, but either way, I'll pm you when the time approaches. Thanks big time!

I put a PPS in jail the other day. The trigger feels better than my Shield and is similar to a Glock. It feels good in the hands and points more naturally than a Glock. I see myself liking it more than my Shield.

Edit: I'm in OC. If you want to shoot it send me a PM.

See my earlier thread, I shot PPS better than Shield and P2000sk.
The only complain about PPS is its grips, little bit of square, grips of shield is more comfortable to me.

OC Firearms in Fountain Valley has a PPS in the display case that you can fondle all you want (but can't shoot it). Also got a XDS in there to compare with.

I currently own a Shield with APEX trigger in it. Don't know if the trigger on the PPS from OCF was modified, but if that is factory, I'm glad I got the Shield. It is crisp for sure, but that "glass rod" must be 6" in diameter because it took some effort to "break" it. I shot a friend's XDS in 45 ACP just yesterday. The trigger was good, but my hands are still hurting from the recoil and getting cut by the slide release on recoil... I seriously hope the 9 mm version is tamer because that gun is not pleasant at all in 45 ACP...

How much was the price on the PPS they had?

It was $615 plus tax and DROS.
