Your thought on Cleaners

I'm sure this maybe an old subject, but I'm new to this and want to be well informed... I have watched 10 glock cleaning videos and I got 10 different ways if cleaning from them..

Some guys claim CLP, but Im not sure if I can believe 1 product does it all..

I used to use just plain ol' Hoppes 9 and have recently switched to FIREClean, never had an issue with either in general use, classes etc. I feel like its one of those things youll get 100 different answers from 99 different guys, just do what makes the gun work and don't worry too much about it

is this serious? Half the guys on this forum dont even clean their glocks to begin with.

I use CLP for cleaning and then I oil with Hoppes 9. Its a glock man, they are not picky. Hell, if you keep it clean after each session you are already ahead of 85% of the glock crowd.

Clean your Glock? Are you nuts, I don't trust clean Glcoks, they may stop running... Nasty, gritty, dirty, oily Glocks are happy Glocks. This one was at about 15,000 rounds and still happy.

i use hoppes, slip ewl, and froglube.

Hoppes as a solvent/cleaner
slip for things that rotate, and froglube for things that slide.

I've tried CLP in a number of my firearms and find it to clean OK, but not as good as a lube. It breaks down too quickly compared to others I've used. Currently using Jardine's Extreme in all of my pistols. Hoppes to clean.

I use whatever is easily available to me, it might be hoppe's or some off the shelf random spray can. The key is your diligence. You don't need some uber stuff as long as you keep up with maintenance.

What cleaner you use isn't as important as cleaning it, period. Everyone's got their own preferences to lube, cleaning products, and cleaning rituals.

You need the following products:
-Something to clean off carbon fouling everywhere in the gun (like CLP, FIREclean, Froglube, etc.)
-Something to dissolve copper fouling in the bore (like Hoppe's, Bore Tech, etc.)
-Patches
-Cleaning rod
-Lube of your choice

Some products really do work well as all-in-ones. FIREclean is a notable example. It works as both a cleaner and lubricant. Use it to clean off the carbon gunk, wipe everything off, then apply a thin coat over everything for lubrication. I myself prefer grease, specifically TW25B, as it stays put longer.

M-Pro7 cleaner and a nylon brush for most parts (copper brush for the bore), and then compressed air to blow the cleaner off. Wipe down the remnants of cleaner, then apply M-Pro7 gun oil. This has been my current choice of cleaner / oil, and seems to work well.

Your best bet may be going and trying some out. Then you can make your own decision from personal experience. In other words there are many product that work great, just pick one.

I use Hoppe's to clean and Slip 2000 for a lube. I haven't tryed anything els because what i am using now works.

I used to like Hoppes until the stopped adding the cancer causing stuff, these days I mostly use Kroil.

use whatever you like. there isnt really a brand that everyone use. they either use what they have or stuck to what they been using for years or even passed down from parents grand parents etc. i use ballistol for cleaning then mobil 1 full synthetic or hoppes for lubing

Been using M-Pro 7 for a while now, does the job. Water based and doesn't smell bad. Slip 2000 for lube.
